Information Choreographed by Thomas Small. Duration: 1.5 hours including a 30minute section in a bar at the start with live music.

Promoters obligations The promoter will cover the cost of the following: • An agreed contribution to travel from Scotland to venue • Local travel i.e. from accommodation to venue etc • Hotel accommodation for full tour entourage. Min rating *** • Per diems at £25.00 per night for full tour entourage • Local Technical staff and equipment hire required • All marketing associated with the performances Promoters agree to pay fees within 1 week of performance via bank transfer.

Technical Rider CUT Tour Please note: The performance requires approximately 10-12 rooms of various sizes in order to run the show successfully. We will also use the corridors between each room. The biggest room we require should fit an audience of 60 around the edges with dancers performing in the centre. If a suitable truss is not available in the venue, then the aerial work cannot be performed. We have a version of the show that can be performed that doesn’t have the aerial section. At least half of the rooms must be able to achieve a complete black out. All rooms require power.

Ideally, the venue is kept, as a secret location and therefore, the audience should meet at a nearby location (previous shows have met in a graveyard) then walk to the venue or travel by coach. If opting for the coach option, this should be arranged and paid for by the presenter. The cast greets the audience outside the venue where the show begins.

Reception and Cloakroom: The first room the audience will enter is a reception area playing a silent movie. The venue should provide a projector for this. We will bring a white sheet with us that will need to be hung in the venue. The movie runs off a MacBook Pro that we tour.

We require some rails to create a cloakroom in this area and audiences must leave all coats and bags in this area for the duration of the show.

Bar area: This can be a makeshift bar area but all licenses to run this bar should be sought in advance. In this area, one of our performers will act as compere and sing some songs and entertain the audience.

This lasts 30 mins and is part of the performance. Drunks can be sold during this time. This area should be set up with 10 tables and enough chairs to seat 60 people. We will bring decoration for this room. This room is interrupted by Carmen and as she enters we require a large amount of haze.

Factory Scene: We require 2 large tables for this scene. We will bring all other dressing for this scene. The table should be sturdy enough to carry the weight of 2 dancers who will stand and dance on these tables.

Tarot reading Scene in Bar Area: The room requires a small square table, big enough for a dancer to hide underneath and light enough to be lifted.

Exhibition Room 1 and 2: Ideally, these rooms will be linked through a door or curtain. The performance will move between each room. This room features cling film draped around a dancer’s body and is tied to various areas in the room. We will work together with venue staff to find suitable places to attach the cling film. Where possible, the venue will provide 2 old-fashioned, glass museum cases/cabinets. 2 men pose inside these as statues. If not possible, alternative ideas to achieve are welcomed. See photo below for an idea of what we are looking for:

Main space: This should be the biggest room in the venue. We require a small square table and 5 chairs. If the aerial work is to be presented then it will require some kind of truss to rig the aerial work. There are 3 people who fly in the show. We can tour with an aerial rigging specialist if this scene is possible in your venue.

Black out rooms: We require 2 rooms with complete black out. These rooms should be completely clear, as the audience will move around in this space in the dark. It should be free of clutter.

Other information: We require 3 other small rooms that we can take individual audience members into for one to one performances. The show ends with the audience being escorted back outside and the doors supposedly locked. After a few minutes, the audience are then invited back in. It is up to the presenter whether or not to reopen the bar at the end of the performance before the coaches transfer the audiences back.

Setting The presenter will provide: • The stage surface in each room must be smooth, level and clean. Each space should be clear of clutter and equipment.

• Full black and 4 sets of black legs.

• An AV projector, focused onto white screen. Shaper/Caper will provide films run from a laptop via QLab. VGA cable to control point required.

• A hazer machine. Please ensure you have sufficient fluid for both rehearsal and performance. It is essential the venue fire alarm system can be adequately isolated onstage, auditorium and

surrounding areas, to allow for the amount of haze that is required for ‘CUT’.

Sound The presenter will provide: • Playback run from a laptop via QLab in all rooms (we can provide a laptop for this).

• There should be a good quality PA system in bar area for the band.

• Sound from the AV projector.

The sound mixing position in each room should be located in the audience area with a good view in order for technician to see and hear the performance correctly.

Lighting The presenter will provide: • This is to be confirmed.

It will be necessary for the lighting control position to be in the auditorium alongside sound mixing position.

Due to the horror nature of the show, black out is essential in all rooms.

All fire exit signs are required to be covered in each room. Where it is not possible to switch off or cover these signs, we have simple black out boxes on long handles that can be held over the sign and very quickly uncovered should there be an emergency. Please ensure you have all the necessary licenses in order to achieve this.

Please note: It is vital that there is a lot of haze on stage for this show.

Please let us know if the air handling or conditioning in the venue will prevent a thick haze effect. The production will not be performed without haze.

Staffing • It is essential for the get in to take place the day before the show. We require support from venue technicians during the get in and get out.

• The Technical Manger and Technician can operate lights and sound and they should be positioned together in each room that requires it.

• The presenter will provide 6 ushers/volunteers who will work with Shaper/Caper to learn a ‘Tour Guide’ role in the show. This role is vital and the individual must wear a costume (white top and black trousers that the presenter or individual will provide themselves). This costume is essential to the running of the show.

These volunteers will simply guide audiences from space to space. They will be required to attend a rehearsal with Shaper/Caper on the day before the show to learn the route and order of the show. Full training will be provided by Shaper/Caper.

• If the presenter requires any members of staff at the venue, they should be in costume and assume one of the Tour Guide roles described above, or remain out of view during the show so as to protect the world of the performance.

Other requirements The presenter will: • Provide a suitable venue without charge • Provide a comms system between stage, sound mixer position and lighting control.

• Provide 2 secure and clean rooms that we can use as dressing rooms with toilets and washbasin facilities – ideally also with access to a shower. These rooms should be for our exclusive use.

These should have working 13 amp sockets, a steam iron and ironing board.

• Provide 20 x 500ml bottles of still water.

• Provide 4 clean towels for the performers and ice packs.

• Provide use of full wardrobe maintenance facilities including washing machine and dryer.

• Ensure temperature is maintained at 20-25ºC throughout venue including stage areas and in dressing rooms.

• Provide a room that we can use as a company office accessible at all times throughout our stay. This can be a dressing room providing it is warm and has working 13 amp sockets, Wi-Fi access and mobile phone signal.

• Provide access to Wi-Fi for all company personnel.

• Provide 2 parking space for 2 transit vans and 3 parking space for 3 cars.

FOH Information • The audience will not be admitted into the auditorium until clearance has been giving from our Technical Manager.

• Shaper/Caper will provide the presenter with a PDF file of our Programme. The venue will print this out and distribute to audiences at no cost to Shaper/Caper.

• The show is recommended for audiences over 14 years due to the subject matter. Please note there will be alcohol sold on the premises.
