Andy Fairweather Low’s pedigree is the stuff rock dreams are made of. He first came to prominence at the vanguard of the new youthful expression of music as the lead singer in Amen Corner. The 60s saw them clock up hit after pop hit. Songs such as ‘Bend Me Shape Me’, ‘Hello Suzy’, ‘(If Paradise is) Half As Nice’ are internationally remembered to this day. But if you were paying close attention you might have picked up a clue in the magnificent ‘Gin House’ to Andy’s future musical collaborations.

An audience with

NIGEL FARAGE With UKIP riding high in the polls Nigel Farage is asserting that his party will change the face of British Politics. In an age of colourless bureaucrats, he is a politician who is now impossible to ignore, provoking controversy and admiration in equal measure. A fun-loving iconoclast whose motto is work hard and play harder, Farage’s charismatic leadership and determination to battle the forces of anti-libertarianism have made him a Robin Hood figure to many, and propelled his party, UKIP, into the media spotlight. A firm believer in Independence for the United Kingdom he is a proponent of free speech and has faced considerable hostilities from his political opponents for speaking out in favour of free and fair referendums on the transfer of power from elected politicians to the EU. Theatre audiences now have the opportunity to hear Nigel’s own story, featuring sometimes hilarious and often terrifying encounters with a stellar supporting cast, including Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, Nicolas Sarkozy, José Manuel Barroso, and UKIP’s short-lived, silver-gilt mascot, Robert Kilroy-Silk and told with Farage’s customary wit and humour. As with all Clive Conway speakers Nigel’s talk will conclude with an open Q&A session after which he will sign copies of his book Flying Free.

PAM AYRES An Evening with

Pam Ayres brings her latest show to Shanklin Theatre to coincide with the publication of her new book of poetry, copies of which she will be signing after the show. Pam Ayres’ work is funny, and approachable. It sounds simple, as though dashed off, but this is deceptive. Her hair-trigger timing, her eye for the detail of everyday life, and for the absurdity therein,

makes for an art that hides art. Pam has sold millions of books, CDs, and DVDs over the years, and she is still a regular on TV and Radio, on programmes such as Just A Minute, Ayres On The Air, QI, Countdown, and The One Show. THUR 31 OCT 7.30pm Tickets ÂŁ22.50
