The 2017 Frontline Female Sale is here and we have gathered up a terrific set of females both Red and Black. The consignors were more then happy to put their best foot forward for this sale. You, the buyer can be confident that I wasn’t about to accept just a heifer or cow for this sale. These are the front end of their respective herds, just ask any of them.

I always get a great deal of satisfaction when a consignor says “you know selling this heifer really hurts”, that’s the point. You want to sell the best and buy the best, it’s how a successful sale works. Touring through these herds this summer its exciting selecting the cattle and staying firm on which ones I want for the sale. A few days before the sale it all comes to fruition when the sale cattle all get gathered up under one roof.

A female that has been the pick of the pen prior to being weaned off of a first-calf heifer. A very broody heifer with ample style and femininity. Her grandam is a very productive cow we purchased out of the Double A Dispersal Sale. A Sequel daughter out of her grandam was purchased by Jim Wright, which in turn produced an Insight daughter shown and sold at the Masterpiece Sale. Her dam is raising a NetWorth 13C bull calf this year that Steve Dorran commented on the tremendous muscle pattern of this bull during his pasture tour at Nesset Lake. She is confirmed to a mating with NetWorth 13C and should produce very promising males or females.

A very sound, complete, and typical Sequel daughter. The Sequel females are very popular among visitors and are all similar phenotypes. This Sequel/Final Answer mating seem to really click.

We displayed her dam and Basin Payweight bull calf at the SK Angus Summer Tour, this pair was the favourite of our display Nesset Lake Lass 30W - Dam of Lot 2 pens. The mating of ICC Pay Raise with this heifer will be some of the first ICC Pay Raise calves in Canada. When touring ORIgen in 2016, I saw Pay Raise and was very impressed with his structural correctness and phenotype. Having Hoover Dam on the bottom side of his pedigree should guarantee great females.

Erica 15D comes from right at the top of our replacement heifers and traces to the very first Angus female at Windy Willows Farms. She is super attractive with a long angular design, clean feminine head and neck, a wide top and deep ribcage. She is a paternal sister to several really competitive show heifers sired by Titlest and can handle some competition herself as she was a member of the Champion pen of three heifers at the 2017 Swift Current All Breed Pen Show. During the 2016 summer Angus tour 20D and her dam 17X were favorites of many.

This will be the first female we have offered off our new Wilbar Foundation 771C herd sire and one we really struggled with letting go. A blast from the past here – a direct Freightliner daughter out of a Boyd New Day cow and even some EXT on the bottom side. We have really appreciated the Freightliner cattle so have continued to AI a few every year and are rarely disappointed. We are extremely impressed with the consistency of the calves off Red T-K Valentine 20 B ( A Packer son) in the last 2 years. They are born easily with low birth weight and once they hit the ground they don’t stop growing. He produces females that are angular with great neck extension, length of body, dark red color and excellent feet.

Both the heifers we have brought to the Frontline sale show how he stamps them.
