This dissertation is done by Shamim Ahmad and guided by Prof. Manoj Mathur at School of Planning and Architecture , New Delhi .
The paper aims to study the boundaries in architecture and the significant change in form of wall as a boundary element. The architectural space is the three dimensional form, which is formulated by the element in the both horizontal and vertical plane. These elements are the elements of boundary, that are wall, roof and floor. The study is focusing on the role of wall in spatial formation and the evolution in the form of wall After establishment of International Congresses of Modern Architecture (CIAM), when modern architecture started spreading throughout the world. Due to introduction of new material and technique there were major changes observed in the form of building as a result, the form of the wall.
