In 2016, Valleyfair marks its 40th anniversary in RiverSouth with a season-long celebration that includes the return of an original park ride, a new entertainment venue and a look back at four decades of fun.

RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL

Huzzah! For more than four decades, the Minnesota Renaissance Festival has showcased the merriment of the 16th century in RiverSouth and has become the largest Renaissance Festival in the country.

As guests enter the Festival gates, they are welcomed by roaming street characters with a gracious “Good day my lord and lady.”

They are slowly immersed into the sights, smells and sounds of an authentic 16th century village. With more than 300 street characters roaming the village, it is inevitable to come face-to-face with the town beggar, the common peasant, the royal court and even the King and Queen.
