hat a joy it has been to return to the Gospel Campaign field! We have outstanding campaigns in the nations of Mexico, Latvia and Peru. What a privilege it is to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the nations of the world. By the time you read this, we will also have completed an additional campaign in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. This will be a special time to celebrate National Bible Day. We are so thankful for the doors that God continues to open. We are seeing great opportunities and connections that can only come from the Lord.

Something that is knit deep in the DNA of Shake The Nations is the power of prayer. It is the fervent prayer of my father and mother that led to my encounter which launched me into my destiny. Prayer is the bedrock of the will of God made manifest in the earth. I spend moments pondering the reality that the incense which rises before the thrown described in the book of Revelation is mixed with the prayers of the saints; that is, the prayers that come from you and me.

Our prayers have an impact on the eternal story of God. As it says in Psalm 114:2, “May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.” Since the beginning of time, the prayers of the saints have been rising before the throne of God. Now is our turn to contribute. Oh, that we may run the race that is set before us with perseverance!

In this issue, we bring you a powerful revelation on prayer from our friend Corey Russell, Founder of Burning and Shining Lamp Ministries. We also have the opportunity to share with you from our UK family, Pastor Peter Morris and Deannie Schofield, STN’s UK Office Manager. In addition, we share updates from the Gospel Campaign field as well as what is happening here at STN Headquarters. We will also introduce you to Elimar Gonzalez, our Junior Graphic Designer, and bring you Partner Updates and information on our Prayer Network.

I am filled with awe and expectation with all that God has done and all He is going to do in us and through us this year. “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23). He will see to completion that which He has started. What a mighty God we serve!

What a privilege it is to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the nations of the world.

hen we look at the current condition of humanity, we must realize that we are in the last seconds of the last minutes of the final hours before the return of the Lord.

Since the turn of the 21st century, society has become increasingly obsessed with instant gratification.

We have reduced communication to a 60-second TikTok post or a bitesize snapshot defined by the name ‘Insta’-gram. As quickly as a word is spoken, it is forgotten, and the next thing is in front of your eyes for distraction. Now, even Christianity can be defined by posting a ‘snapshot of faith’.

If we are not careful, we may allow a generation to be brought up who is ill-equipped to deal with the ‘fight of faith’. The truth is that perseverance and endurance are as powerful as the ‘suddenly of God’ in your life. Whatever God has shown you, whatever He has placed in your spirit, whatever was prophesied over you, whatever you are waiting to see come to pass, don’t be so immature in your faith to think that everything is going to be handed to you. The Word of God declares to every believer that we must be prepared to ‘fight the good fight of faith’!

Scripture declares over and over again the need to contend, the need to engage. Jude 1:3 says, “Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary

to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.” We must not allow this generation to slip into a false reality that everything must be now; everything must be fast. We cannot allow the pattern of the world to set the pattern for a church that no longer sees or understands that the moment of Gethsemane led to the resurrected Christ! The cry of, ‘not My will but thine be done’ is not fashionable! The idol of ‘self’ is prevalent now more than ever.

Charles Spurgeon said, “Good people must never expect to escape troubles; if they do, they will be disappointed, for none of their predecessors have been without them.” In our desire to make the Gospel relevant, we must be careful that we do not somehow move into a message that determines your faith on the size of your bank account, the size of your following, or the number of speaking invitations you receive.

Peter reminds us in his first letter to the persecuted Church in Asia Minor, “In this, you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ…”. We must prepare a church that can withstand the various trials that are a part of every believer’s walk of faith.

THE TRIAL OF TESTING There are seasons in each person’s life where we find ourselves in volatility, making us feel vulnerable.

The truth is that faith does not exempt you from adversity. Yes, we have the anointing, but do not make the mistake of thinking that the same anointing doesn’t also come with moments where you feel the agony of a situation threatening to take you out. There are times when you have victory on one side but vulnerability on the other. You are powerful on one side but persecuted on the other. You must be positioned to persevere. Communing is often found in the crushing. You can name it and claim it all you want, but still, there is trouble that stands in the midst of your faith. God uses it all to balance you, to strengthen your faith.

Faith is seen on the mountaintop, but it is proven in the furnace of affliction. There is weight to the biblical truth that God is ‘an everpresent help in time of need’, which is the hour of adversity. When you have been through a trial, you know your faith has substance because it has been tested. I am reminded of the Champions of Faith in Hebrews 11. These men and women of God went through trials and tribulations.

Some were cast down, and some faced fiery darts of the enemy. They overcame insurmountable odds to make it to the other side. Some

had to subdue kingdoms, close the mouths of lions, and quench the violence of the fire that raged against them; still, some escaped the sword that was sent to kill. The fire of testing brought them to such a place that God had to raise them back to life. They made it through the wilderness and dry places, some not even accepting a way out that they might obtain a better resurrection.

These are those that are held in high esteem by the Holy Spirit. It was not the clothes they wore or the camel they rode in on, it was their faith.

Many have deeply suffered for the glory of God. This can be hard to understand if we think Christianity is supposed to be problem-free with no strife. Jesus receives glory in those who suffer for His Name’s sake?! Yes. When we go through trials, we must be very careful when we ask the question, ‘Why’? When I asked that question, His response was, ‘Why not you’? We must remember as Paul wrote to the Corinthians, “For our light affliction, which is for but a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight

Like Job said, “though he slay me, yet will I trust Him!” No matter what it seems like, TRUST HIM! The truth is that your faith must stand in the fire. Sooner or later, your faith will be tested in the fire of affliction. I believe that God, in His foreknowledge, penned the words of 1 Peter because he knew that there would be a coming generation that would be unprepared for this reality, “…think it not strange that these fiery trials have come upon you as though something strange is happening to you…” (1 Peter 4:12).

Every man, every woman will face the fire of testing. I am not talking about someone taking your space in the carpark. I am not talking about someone de-friending you on Facebook or someone that didn’t speak to you when you thought they should. As we join with the saints of all the ages, some will say, ‘I was stoned to death for the Gospel.’

For every trial, there is going to be glory if you hold fast. Sometimes we pray for God to remove something when He is trying to reveal in us a more exceeding weight of glory!

God is not trying to get you out of the situation, He is trying to bring you through! His strength is made perfect in our weakness. He may not change it, but He will give you the grace to bear it. He may not move it, but He will give you the grace to stay standing under it! God will give you a grace that causes you to have a peace when those around you ask, “How are you doing this?” Know this, God may not take you out of the fire, but He will be your thermostat in the furnace. He is the fourth Man in the fire. Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who were thrown literally into the furnace, Christ is standing in the fire with you.

FAITH IN THE FIRE

THE CHURCH ON TRIAL It is in this moment that we find the early Church in Acts 8:1-4, “At that time a great persecution arose against the Church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. And devout men carried Stephen to his burial and made great lamentation over him. As for Saul, he made havoc of the Church, entering every house and dragging off men and women, committing them to prison. Therefore, those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word.”

They had experienced the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Signs, wonders, and miracles were occurring through the authority of the Name of Jesus Christ. Many

were coming to salvation, yet – ‘at that time, a great persecution arose against the church.’ Their faith was about to be thrown into the fire of persecution.

Saul, later to become Paul, was wreaking havoc upon the Church. For the first time ever, regardless of geographical location, they were persecuted to the point that they could no longer escape the pressure. They were literally being dragged from their homes into prison.

What do you do when suddenly you go from a place of comfort to havoc? From a place of peace to persecution; when it seems that the enemy is ravaging that place in your life that you thought was peace? At this point, the disciples

were experiencing the painful reality that Stephen, a man who was ‘full of faith and power, who did great signs and wonders among the people’, was dead! For me, it is important to note that they were lamenting; they were mourning. They were confused about how God could let this take place. Sometimes in a moment of crisis, when it seems like the enemy has the upper hand, it can feel like even what you thought could not be stripped from you is taken. Realities like, ‘I never thought I would be in a place like this. I never thought they would betray me. I never thought my child would be in prison. I never thought I would get this diagnosis!’

It is in this arena that God begins His work. When you have reached your end, you have actually stepped into the realm of His supernatural power.

THE SCATTERING In the scattering of the disciples, God was working.

There are two words in the New Testament for scatter. The first, ‘διασκορπίζω’ (diaskorpizó), means generally to separate, to divide, to waste in a foolish manner. The second, ‘διασπορά’ (diaspora), means scattering abroad of seed by the Sower. Luke used the second revealing God’s plan – they were like a seed sown with the intention of a harvest! It looked like the church was running, and havoc was ravaging God’s purpose for their lives. However, what the devil could not see was that in the middle of the crisis, instead of the enemy and fear being in control, God was releasing His glory amid the havoc, in the midst of the turmoil. God was working through the storm to intentionally sow the seed of a harvest that was yet to come!

When it looks like you have been scattered, when you look around, and it seems as though all you see is

devastation; when the enemy brings persecution, havoc, and accusation, he wants us to be afraid. He wants us to wonder, ‘Where is God in all of this’? You may have lost your Stephen, the very thing that you felt was the most powerful in your life. I want you to know that in the middle of the storm, in the middle of the havoc, in the midst of the scattering – there is God Almighty, sowing the seeds of a far more exceeding weight of glory in your life! You may be shaken for a moment but let me remind your faith that is in the fire – the author and the finisher of your faith is in the fire with you! God is working in the scattering. Do not let the lies of the enemy convince you that it is over! God fights fire with fire. The fire of persecution reveals the fire of the Holy Spirit in the lives of His servants.

AFTER THIS The battle was raging all around the disciples. They had been scattered, and yet, “then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied” (Acts 9:31). There will be an ‘after this’. After the pain, after the fiery trial of your faith that may seem as though it has lasted a lifetime, it is not over! Our God is a God who will write another chapter to your story.

Peter encourages the saints, “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ

Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever.

Amen” (1 Peter 5:10-11). There is power in the trial!

God is so faithful. We see again in Acts 9:31 the blessing that comes on the other side of the fire. The church had peace. They maintained access to the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ.

They did not strive to work out what they thought was the answer to their situation; no, they allowed their faith to take hold of Jesus and allowed His peace to flood their souls!

They were edified, which means built up. All that was put in place through the persecution had now built them to be what God had purposed them to be. They had become something they were not before the storm. Lastly, they were multiplied. There is something about the child of God that, when you apply pressure, instead of it killing you, it multiplies you!

We declare that this is the generation that cannot be silenced!

They will not love their own lives even unto death. We declare that this is the generation that will hold fast to the confession of their hope without wavering. They WILL fight the good fight of faith. Let this be a generation that will overcome!

hey knew Jesus had received the letter.

His dear friends Mary and Martha had sent him a letter saying their brother Lazarus was sick. The tormenting thought that had buffeted them for four days was, ‘Why didn’t He come when He got the news?

Why did He tarry, and our brother is now dead?”

This part of the story begs the question: What do you do when Jesus hears your deepest groans, pains, and prayers but doesn’t immediately respond to them?

You’ve been crying out to God for something and He doesn’t seem to move in accordance with your timetable. How do you respond when the thing you’ve longed for the most dies?

I believe this furnace will either be the end of you, or it will be your breakthrough into the next season.

When our nice theologies of the perfect Christian experience are destroyed, we are left with the choice to either withdraw our hearts and medicate our pain or live in the tension of what Jesus said He would do but hasn’t yet done.

SOMETHING IN THE PROCESS We know from John 11 that as soon as Jesus received the letter telling Him Lazarus was sick, He made one of the most definitive statements in Scripture, “This sickness is not unto death; but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it” (John 11:4). Jesus didn’t say Lazarus wouldn’t die. He simply said the sickness wouldn’t end in death. This is what gets me: Jesus

knew what He was going to do from the very beginning; to pierce His friends. It makes me think there must be something in the process and not necessarily in the desired end that is useful to Jesus that brings Him glory. Why does Jesus leave His friends waiting in their distress?

Is there something in the delay that produces something necessary in their souls?

After all, Jesus didn’t do this to a Pharisee, a Sadducee, or a stranger.

He did this to His friends whom He dearly loved. I’m convinced many of us in the Body of Christ have been in the exact same place as Mary and Martha. We have cried out to God to save a sick family member, to save ourselves, to save a fractured marriage, or to save a failing ministry. Yet, we haven’t seen His immediate rescue. So how do we address this? How do we reconcile a good, compassionate, powerful God with the God who lets a loved one, a marriage, or a ministry die?

We need to slow down and look intently at this because our cheap, Christian phrases and cliches don’t cut it. We’ve got to go deeper. It’s in

this gap of four days that we see two types of responses emerge, one from Martha and the other from Mary. I believe most believers respond in one of these two ways. It all really comes down to one question, “Will you allow the fact that Jesus didn’t show up in time to cut you or not?”

TWO DIFFERENT RESPONSES John 11:20 tells us, “Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house.” Note here that Martha went to Jesus “as soon as she heard” He was coming. Martha never learned to sit and hear Jesus’ words. She never learned how to come out of the swirl of distractions.

She never learned to sit before the Lord so that, when the greatest crisis of her life came, she knew what to do and rest in His Presence. If Martha couldn’t come out of the swirl when nothing bad was going on in her life, like when Jesus came to a meal at her house, how would she come out of it when tragedy or difficulty hit? What was she going to do when she didn’t understand what was going on or what to do about it?

When faced with the death of her brother and Jesus’ unexplainable delay, Martha had no history of waiting before Him. As a result, she was consumed once again with anxiety, worry, and trouble. I can see her pacing frantically in the

house and reciting what she would say when Jesus finally showed up. I can hear her saying aloud, “Where were You, Jesus? Why didn’t You get here?” The anxiety, anger, and swirl of the moment were too much for her soul, and she had no defense system.

Therefore, “as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming,” she went to meet Him (John 11:20).

In contrast, every time we see Mary in Scripture, she is sitting. She sat in Luke 10 to hear Jesus’ words.

Looking again at John 11:20, while Martha went to meet Jesus, we read, “but Mary was sitting in the house.”

Mary was sitting in Luke 10, in John 11, and at the feet of Jesus, anointing Him with the oil from her alabaster box in Mark 14. Her sitting is the picture of a life surrendered to God. I believe this posture is one that the Lord wants to emphasize in these days. There is so much more to this sitting posture than we realize.

Martha went to see Jesus as she heard He was coming, but Mary went to see Jesus only after He called for her. And when Mary got to Him, “she fell down at His feet,” and said to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died” (John 11:32). Mary repeated what Martha had said, but when Mary said it, she said it having fallen at Jesus’ feet, and she said it while weeping.

What we witness in verses 21 and 22 is how two people can pray the exact same prayer yet pray it from two completely different physical postures as well as two completely different heart postures.

Where Martha made her initial statement backed up with her two “I Know” statements (‘I know whatever

you ask of God, He will give you’ and ‘I know that he will rise again’), Mary made her statement intermingled with tears at Jesus’ feet. Martha said she knew. Mary didn’t understand.

“Jesus, I don’t understand why You didn’t get her sooner. If you had, my brother wouldn’t have died. I don’t understand, Jesus.”

Have you ever been in this place?

Are you in this place now? Martha made the statement, then tried to clean it up with her good theology and Christianese. She wasn’t letting the divine delay cut her. And many of us refuse to let the delay cut us, but Mary let it cut her.

I believe Jesus is showing up to His friends in this hour and looking for more than pretty, perfect, correct prayers. Jesus is looking for a place of brokenness in our prayers, for prayers of brokenness move Heaven. Let the

divine delay touch you and cut you, and then let it produce a cry that you’ve never experienced before.

Our ability to impact God with our prayers is directly connected with the divine delay’s ability to impact us. If we refuse to let it touch us, we can have nice prayer times, grow in theology, and still live at a distance from Him. But it won’t move Heaven. Jesus wants something deeper.

I believe Jesus is calling for Mary’s all over the earth who will come out of the waiting room of intimacy and wrestle through the confusion to partner with Him in seeing resurrection power released in their situations, families, cities, and nations.

He wants us to partner with Him to release revival in the earth.

Jesus is looking to produce something in us. I’m convinced He is delivering His people from pretty prayers and taking us into ugly praying. The ugly prayers are guttural responses to the divine delay, to the “I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t understand why Jesus hasn’t come yet.

Why isn’t He answering me?” They are the prayers that gush out from our souls. They’re the raw reactions to the cutting. They’re the prayers wrought with the wrestle of confusion and disillusionment, of not understanding why Jesus hasn’t broken in when all along He could have.

I’m convinced that God is bringing the Church to a place of prayer on the other side of words. It’s a place of brokenness, humility, and desperation that will usher in expressions, prayers, and actions that penetrate the heavens

and hearts of men and women in our noise-saturated culture. I believe tears are coming to the Church. It won’t be mere emotionalism or striving and religiosity, but a gift of tears. This gift is the revelation of our inability to change anything in and of ourselves.

Tears flow where solutions cease. Mary fell at Jesus’ feet in the swirl of confusion, not knowing or understanding why He delayed. She let that cut into her, and she wept. I believe Mary sat at Jesus’ feet in the past and allowed His words to go to her deep so that, in the hour of her crisis, her deep called out to His deep, pulling a resurrection out of Him.

here have been many wonderful and inspired writings regarding the subject of prayer. I do not wish to add to that which has already been written but to briefly recall my practical testimony of sharing the ‘secret place’ with my Father in Heaven. In Matthew 6:6, Jesus gives us this language, “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” We see it also with David in Psalm 91:1, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Within the place you have created for your Heavenly Father, having shut out ALL of the distractions, God reveals His heart to His people.

Saints, the ‘secret place,’ is a practiced place of communion with the Father. The Bible says of Daniel that, “He set his heart to seek the Lord.” For Daniel, that was the place of revelation, wisdom, guidance and

a sharing of his heart with the God of the universe. Even when threatened, he did not abandon that sacred place of communion and prayer. Friend, there have always been 24 hours in a day! We have the same hours that Daniel had. The same as Elijah, and the same amount of hours in a day as our Saviour shared! They that dwell (those who live) in the secret place of the Most High; those that rest, remain, return, persist in, shall abide in the Almighty!

and there would be a long pause of silence. I would then listen to him say, “Father, you’ve not told me yet.” This would be followed by another long silence. I ran to Mom and asked, “Who has Pastor got in his room?” In those days, I learned a fundamental lesson that before going to the people, you have to go before God and wait upon Him to carry His Word to the ‘whosoever.’

Let me dare to ask, how many hours does the television have of our time

I will never forget, as a 9-yearold boy, how my parents would accommodate the visiting Evangelist who was preaching at our church.

I would run home from school at the end of the day to hang my school jacket at the bottom of the stairs to be suddenly arrested by the conversation I could hear the Evangelist having with someone in his room. He would stop talking

in comparison to those minutes the Heavenly Father has our company?

Martin Luther said, “To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.” In that place of private communion with your God, it is He who will create that burning passion for more of Himself. He will create the hunger. He will melt the hardest heart and reveal the whitened fields

THE SECRET PLACE

of the harvest. The Master will reveal and share His heart with you turning your confusion into the revelation of the plan that He has for you. It is in the ‘secret place’ that our Heavenly Father wants fellowship with you. He wants to love on you.

Make time for His Majesty to company with you and share your hearts together. You can always tell the difference between good advice and anointed instruction to your heart! When I hear it, I am moved deep inside where the words of people could never reach. There is a weightiness about it, and it leaves you with a more profound sense of God. I am always challenged by the words written about Samson in Judges 16:20, “…But he did not know that the Lord had departed from him.” Oh! How busy can our lives be! How overcome with anxieties of the day that we are unaware that the Father in Heaven has visited our’ secret place’ only to find it vacant yet another day?

Of course, our Lord Jesus is the supreme example of private intimacy with the Father. He constantly sought out private places to be alone with Father God. “And when He had

sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there” (Matthew 14:23).

This crushes me. This action is valuable enough to record for all of history. This sentence follows the feeding of the 5,000 men plus women and children. The feeding of the multitudes immediately followed Jesus being told that John the Baptizer had been beheaded.

Jesus’s response to this devastating news was to go to a deserted place

by Himself. He was pulled from the secret place by compassion for the people. Not only did He feed them, but He also healed their sick.

When this act of compassion was completed, He then returned to the ‘secret place’! Who is like our God?!

You will never reach your potential in Christ without having those times of being alone with God, for that is where the Potter shapes you. That is where you hear the heartbeat of God for this hour. That is where His plans become the plan of your life.

Jeremiah 29:13, “And you will seek me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” Our God can be found! Nehemiah was overcome

with grief when he heard of the destruction of Jerusalem. He seeks the Lord and is given the boldness to ask King Artaxerxes to rebuild the city.

Brothers and sisters, to lose the anointing in our lives or in our churches, has disastrous consequences. As we see with Samson, without this intimacy, we will know turmoil in our walk with God. All genuine relationship comes out of intimacy with Jesus! I need a ‘secret place’ in my life! Personally, I will always be grateful to the Lord for the men and women who greatly influenced my life in the realm of

prayer. Not just for emergency, but also for the communion of my heart with the Lord, building a true foundation of fellowship with my Savior.

Dwelling, living in that secret place, is daily pursuit of the Master.

But, of course, in the events of life, there are those times of the ‘unexpected.’ Emergencies, circumstances beyond our control, and challenges do happen.

In the year 2015, I rose out of bed at 6:00 am and, having made a coffee, sat to spend some time meditating and waiting upon the Lord. Suddenly, I felt between my shoulder blades a dull ache. Little did I realize that the next hours would see me laid in a hospital bed in an Heart Care Unit, being seen by a Cardiologist with monitors everywhere in the midst of lifesaving measures. I was bedridden for four days. It was such a blessing when the doctor said I could try sitting outside of the bed. I remember sitting at my bedside and began reading Psalm 41, and when I got to verse three, the anointing of the Holy Spirit surged through my body like a fire. “When they are sick, lying upon their bed of suffering, God will restore them. He will raise them up again and restore

them back to health” (TPT). I put down my Bible and asked the Lord, “What are you saying?” I picked up God’s Word again, and immediately that same experience was there.

Two days went by, and suddenly that dull ache returned in the middle of the night. I was transferred, with blue lights flashing, to the Cities Emergency Unit. Arrangements were made for me to be taken down to the Operating Theater for stents to be inserted into my heart vessels to improve blood flow. During the procedure, I was fully conscious. It was after about an hour laid on the surgery table that the Cardiologist asked me if I was ok. I was very uncomfortable but understood that I must remain a little longer in that position. Having replied to the doctor, suddenly those words of Psalm 41:3 swept through my body again like a burning fire, “I will raise you up again.” Immediately, I tipped into unconsciousness, and the medical team fought for my life for six and a half hours.

During that time, they told my wife that I might not make it through and that if I did, I could be braindamaged. The Cardiologist thought it wise to contact my son in the USA to fly immediately to the UK. The expectation was that, at best, I would be unconscious for at least forty-eight hours before they could access my future. BUT GOD HAD SENT HIS WORD! “I will raise you up again,” and faithful to His Word, I was sat out of bed within fortyeight hours, eating breakfast with all medical tubes removed – Praise the Lord! The doctors declared that I was a ‘MIRACLE.’ I was home within days, and during a follow-up clinic visit, the doctor put down his pen and said, “Peter, I have a question I

need to ask you. Who came into my operating room that Sunday afternoon? All of my staff felt something enter, and we have talked about it.” I replied, “Doctor, you may think I am crazy, but God spoke to me on your operating table and told me He would, ‘raise me up again!’”

He replied, “Somebody came in. We all felt peace and serenity at that moment.”

Friend, abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Live there and walk in the direction He would lead you.

He truly is a Shepard to His sheep.

Have you kept your Heavenly Father waiting? The Father has been waiting every day for the appointment He has with His child. Meet Him. Be changed. Abide.

ave you ever wondered why God compares Himself with fire throughout the Scriptures? In Revelation 19:2, “His eyes blaze like fire.”

Hebrews 12:29 tells us that “… our God is a consuming fire.” Jeremiah 20:9 reveals, “…His word was in my heart like a burning fire…”. He appeared in the fire with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 3:25). He was a pillar of fire to provide light to the Jewish people at night in the wilderness (Exodus 13:21). On Mount Sinai, He appears in the form of a burning bush (Exodus 3:2). In Matthew 3:11, we are told by John the Baptizer that there is One who, “…will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” In Acts 2:3, “Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.”

Fire illuminates. It lights our pathway. It is so important to live in the light of God’s Presence so He can expose every dark trap the enemy might place before us. Vision is also

imparted in the fire when we look at the One whose eyes are like fire. We will be able to receive revelation for our own lives as we are led and directed by the Holy Spirit. People on fire hear the still, small voice within saying, “This is the way; walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21).

Fire melts. It changes the most hardened surface and the most hardened hearts. Life can naturally make us hard because we are not naturally pliable, moldable, or even stretchable. We are naturally fearful, smallminded, stingy, and petty. At least, that is what I am without the fire of God. Paul was a tentmaker. The only way a tentmaker could get the most for his money was to take the rugged hide of an animal and boil it in hot oil. When the hide was removed from the oil, it was stretchable, and the tentmaker

could do so much more with it.

Without the hot oil, the tentmaker could have pulled and pulled all he wanted, but to no avail. The hide simply had no give.

The hide of the animal is so much like our hearts. No matter how hard we try and grit our teeth, our hearts aren’t going to change unless we get in the fire, in the direct heat of God’s Presence.

Those ancient tents had to be taken down and soaked in boiling oil regularly because the elements of nature caused them to shrink. They had to be re-boiled, re-stretched, and re-molded.

Much like our hearts.

Fire is contagious. It burns everything in its pathway. It is not particular, and it leaves a distinct scent behind. When you are indeed on fire, without realizing it, you touch everything around you with His Presence within you in some way, shape, or form. We must walk in that for which Jesus paid! His fire must consume us!

WELCOME TO THE STN TEAM!

hat I remember the most about my first introduction to Shake The Nations was the highlight video played before Nathan preached at my church. I saw huge crowds of people and how everyone would react when there was a healing. I had never seen anything like that before. This was about five years ago. Fast forward to the Summer of 2021, and I had just graduated from the UCF with a degree in Communications and had been offered my dream job at the University. They were even going to pay for my master’s degree! Around the same time, my brother told me about an opening at the ministry for a Junior Graphic Designer.

When I walked into the office for the interview and met the team, I was overwhelmed by what I experienced.

How can I go anywhere else? But it was hard to let go of what was comfortable. I needed to go through the decision making process that I went through with the Lord, to see the importance of obedience. When you walk in what God has asked you to do, it is not a sacrifice. It is more of a privilege. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to be a part of something like this because it is not something that everyone will get to experience.

I am excited to experience the hunger I saw in that initial highlight video, to witness people being that desperate for God, and to see miracles. I want to be a part of a team that makes those events come to life. These events change people’s lives. It is a moment that will last a lifetime and goes on to future generations. Because of a single moment, a whole generational line can change. In the videos, I couldn’t look away from the people’s hunger.

In Monterrey, Mexico, the worship team hadn’t even taken the stage yet, and the power of God was touching people. They had come expectant!

We can make it really complicated sometimes – “I don’t feel God. I must be at a certain level to experience God”; but God is just looking for vessels to use. I have been learning that; it’s not complicated. It’s about being obedient and walking where God tells us to walk, and the rest will happen.

Something I want to share with the readers is that God is really good.

He is a lot better than how you may see Him. He wants the best for us. So be bold and confident that He can

use you. You don’t have to work in a ministry for God to use you! Grow in relationship with the Father – it is not some huge religious thing. Now more than ever, we need to walk in the awareness of His goodness.

God would rather I read one Bible verse that I learn and apply and let it resonate in my heart than read the whole Bible and not be transformed.

It doesn’t matter where you have been, just start!

mid chaos and crisis moving across the nations due to economic failures, worldwide pandemics, violence, and war, we will always have the Good News of Jesus for a hopeless generation. The Gospel will bring freedom to a household, to a city, and to a whole nation. More than ever, we need to preach about Jesus Cto people that are seeking solutions in the wrong places. Only Jesus can touch, save, heal, and set the captives free. The Bible teaches us in Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Our Lord and Savior has not changed and will not change. He is moving across the nations with His hope for humanity. We have this extraordinary privilege of partnering with our Lord to be His hands, feet,

and mouthpiece to bring the Gospel to the nations of the world. This is our commission as a ministry; that we may go after the harvest like never before. He has assigned us to go to the highways and byways, where others back away because we are going after ‘the one.’ Jesus left the 99 to go after ‘the one.’ Matthew 18:12 says, “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the

mountains to seek the one that is straying?” That’s why we are doing more Gospel Campaigns than ever before.

The Bible teaches in Matthew 9 how Jesus went throughout the countryside preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, healing the sick, and casting out devils. He was staring at multitudes. Multitudes looking to Him as their solution to all of the pain and trials of life. Our Jesus, with eyes of compassion, looked upon them in their weariness and said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:37-38). Oh, that we may heed the call! These are exciting days in the Kingdom because we believe we

will see a harvest of souls before the imminent return of King Jesus. We are witnessing an end-time harvest of souls from every walk of life come into the Kingdom.

We cannot do this alone, and that’s why we are eternally grateful to our Covenant Partners for sending us to the nations of the world. Every seed sown goes into souls. Ev. Nathan Morris and all of our STN staff have a deep hunger to see hell emptied out and heaven filled with souls! We want to thank every Church 100 and Business 100 Partner for not only sowing into souls with your finances but for standing in the gap and praying for us.

We are so proud of our Shake the Nations staff seeing their commitment and diligence to seeing the harvest. they witness the power and Presence of the Holy Spirit. What a mighty God we serve!

Ev. Nathan Morris and part of our STN staff were in the nation of Argentina, seeing a mighty move of the Holy Spirit. There was a young lady in particular who really blessed us upon hearing her testimony.

This young lady was on crutches with a broken foot. As she walked in front of the venue where we were holding our meetings, she felt she needed to come in and be part of what was happening.

As the word was being preached, Ev. Nathan gave a word of knowledge that some people were carrying a spirit of suicide. This young lady with crutches was one of those being affected by the spirit of

suicide. Not only was this young lady set free from the spirit of suicide, but she was completely healed from her broken foot! She was able to walk without any issues!

At the end of every meeting, people lined up outside the venue, forming a line for the next day! The hunger level in Argentina brought heaven down to a people that needed

a touch of the Holy Spirit. Being in Argentina reminded me of how Isaiah described the Lord coming down with His Presence to touch his people, “Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your Presence—” (Isaiah 64:1).

An opportunity opened to hold

meetings in a secret location in the nation of Ukraine. We felt compelled by the Holy Spirit that we needed to grab hold of this opportunity and bring the Good News of Jesus to a country being devastated by war. As others evacuated the nation, we were pushing our way into the region to bring the Gospel. The Holy Spirit touched many Pastors and Leaders,

and those in the meetings received a word of encouragement. We were touched by hearing the testimony of a 12-year-old boy. He was going out into the streets preaching the Gospel of Jesus to as many people as he and his team could reach. This 12-yearold boy shared his testimony to over a thousand pastors and leaders who heard how God is using him to touch

the lives of others. This brought hope to the room that though their nation was being attacked, the Lord was raising up a young generation on fire for God who would preach the Good News of Jesus with boldness and without compromise.

In addition to our Ukraine trip, we had the amazing opportunity of being in Monterrey, Mexico. We

experienced the Glory of God in a tangible way. As Ev. Nathan made the altar call, thousands responded by giving their lives to Jesus Christ.

Many recommitted their lives to the Lord as prodigal sons and daughters came home to the Father’s house. Furthermore, our team saw numerous miracles as people were healed and set free.

I was so blessed to have my son, Micah Canales, who is 17, come to his first Gospel Campaign. He testified that as he prayed for a lady with a dislocated shoulder, she was healed completely! She recovered all movement and had no more pain in her shoulder. She was blessed through the miracle, but my son was blessed to have been used by Jesus to bring healing through his hands.

We also witnessed a young boy who was deaf and mute. As the power of God fell on him, he waved to his mom and pointed to his ears, signaling that he could hear. He was also healed from being mute, and the first word that came out of his mouth was JESUS! We praise our Lord for what He did in Monterrey, Mexico.

Our team was also in Riga, Latvia, for an Evangelistic Outreach event where we saw thousands filled with the power and the Presence of the Holy Spirit. We were blessed

to see our UK team come and be part of what the Lord did in Latvia.

Our team was used in a powerful way where we saw deliverances and healings take place. The last night was so full that people had to be turned away because the arena was filled to capacity. People came from Ukraine, Finland, Lithuania, and Russia to participate in this powerful weekend.

As we continue to press into 2022, we are so thankful for all that God has done around the world. Please continue to pray for Ev. Nathan and all of our Shake the Nations team as we endeavor to push forward for what we feel God is calling us to do across the nations of the world. We are excited and expectant for what the Holy Spirit has in the future as more countries are opening up to hold Gospel Campaigns. We are already anticipating 2023 and feel God will be taking us to more nations than ever before. It is such an honor to be a part of what God is doing. We each have a part to play in the grand design that God has established before the foundations of the world.

I pray that we may continue to walk through the open doors as the Holy Spirit leads us to play our part in this mighty harvest. May Jesus Christ receive all of the honor and glory!

Because of your faithful prayers and financial support, we have been able to go out into the nations and take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost, sick, and hurting. I have had the joy and honor of meeting and co-laboring in the harvest field with some of our incredible partners over the last few months. The Gospel Campaign in Mexico has been an excellent reminder of God’s love for His people through salvations, healings, and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible talks about women who provided for Jesus and his disciples with their resources. Luke 8:1-3 says, “Soon afterward He went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the Good News of the Kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s household manager, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for them out of their means.”

When the Bible mentions details like this, we must pay attention!

It was through their means that Jesus and the disciples were able to continue ministering to the lost. The reality is that we need resources to further the Gospel around the world.

This was of as much importance in the times when Jesus walked on the earth as it is now. There is a lot of ground to cover for the Kingdom, but without generous hearts willing to sow into the harvest, it would not be possible. God could have easily made money fall from the sky, spring from a well, or grow from the branches of trees. Still, He chose these women to participate in furthering the Gospel

by sowing their resources. We GET to be a part of the work of the Kingdom. We GET to sow! What a privilege! Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna’s names were recorded in the Bible for us to remember! This is confirmation that their sacrifices did not go unnoticed by God, nor will yours.

In addition to the Gospel Campaigns, your financial support also makes it possible for our television program, Desire Of All Nations, to air worldwide. I have received calls from many who were touched through the program and are encouraged to pursue Jesus more. Many are being awakened to a deeper calling with the Lord. Many have given their hearts to the Lord for the first time right from their living rooms! One precious woman called and said her faith was ignited to believe for her healing after seeing the program. Faith changes everything, and “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word

of God” (Romans 10:17). It was faith arising in the woman with the issue of blood that caused her to be healed.

Jesus told her in Luke 8:48, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” I was so blessed by connecting with another precious woman from Canada who had been watching videos from Ev. Nathan and sharing them with friends and family. She first reached out to be part of the Prayer Network and quickly became a monthly Covenant Partner. She shared that her heart burned for more of Jesus and was excited to partner with us in the harvest! These are lives being touched and impacted for Jesus by your sacrifice.

s I am flying over the Gulf of Mexico on our way to serve the Kingdom of God in Honduras, my heart is full of joy as I think of all that God has been doing in the last few months through Shake The Nations Ministries. We have recently returned from the harvest fields after two years of lockdown, and God has once again blown me away by His faithfulness. Since the end of May, it feels like we have been all over the world. We started in Ukraine with a Ministry Leaders Conference, followed by Amsterdam, Mexico, Latvia, France, Peru and now on our way to Tegucigalpa, Honduras for National Bible Day Celebration. These trips have been outstanding in so many ways, but what is really exciting is to see how much the staff has grown in this last season.

Even though the nations were in lockdown, Shake The Nations Ministries didn’t take a passive approach. Evangelist Nathan said to us at the very beginning of this past season, ‘We must push forward in this time. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is always pushing forward, taking ground, expanding its territory - not sitting on the sidelines waiting for something to happen.’ So we did. We pushed forward with adding staff to different departments and taking on major construction projects to prepare our facility for what God has in store for the next season. Adding staff members has been a real blessing because Ev. Nathan has always had the attitude of wanting Shake The Nations to feel like a big family.

We are intentional about a culture that radiates the sense that we are all in this together, battling shoulder to shoulder alongside brothers and sisters

with the same goal - to expand the Kingdom of God through a radical encounter with Jesus Christ. That being said, Ev. Mauricio and I have brought on family members to join the STN Staff. Mauricio’s wife, Janet, daughter, Leah, and my son, Lucas, have joined the team.

It has indeed become a family affair, where it doesn’t just feel like family, but it is the next generation stepping into what God has for them through the ministry their fathers serve. Each one of the trips mentioned above was amazing, and God moved so powerfully in each. Still, Monterrey, Mexico, will always hold a very special place in my heart because it was the first trip I went on with my son, Lucas. I was able to be a part of his introduction to the Gospel Campaigns to which I have given my life. To see the harvest come into the Kingdom serving alongside your children is amazing. I have watched him grow up in meetings where the Holy Spirit has gripped his heart, and then to watch him along his journey with God to where he is on the fields serving the Kingdom alongside me is an honor and a privilege that not many fathers get. I think of the reality that many parents fight to have their children in church, living for the Lord, and I get to serve alongside my son in the Kingdom. It is such a blessing that I will hopefully never take for granted.

Lucas not only serves on the fields, but he did a summer internship in the office as a Senior in high school, where he worked in the Media Department.

Here he learned video editing and camera operation.

He became such an asset that the leadership decided to offer a more permanent position. Now he is a part-time employee looking to come on full-time.

It is truly a dream come true and an answer to prayer for God to have given me such a blessing. I can only imagine how amazing it must be for Mauricio and Janet as husband and wife, to work alongside one another in this

same way. Janet has really been a blessing, as well as Leah, their daughter, in growing the administrative staff in the office. The team has also grown with other new positions where the relationships have become like family so quickly. Some have served in the shadows for many years and have now taken on more official roles. The unity and culture in the office has never been this strong.

Along with internal growth and strengthening of the spiritual foundation, God has also expanded the physical structure of the ministry building.

God has given Ev. Nathan a vision of training and equipping the next generation of evangelists. We feel called to raise up the next generation of firebrands that will set the world ablaze for Jesus Christ. The Lord has told Ev. Nathan to raise up over 1000 evangelists in a short period of time with the STN DNA, which he believes will lead to actual nations shaken for Jesus Christ. With this vision, we needed to look at expanding and preparing our facility to be ready to become a training and equipping ground to see this come to pass.

We are so excited to announce that Phase One, which includes a Welcome Center, Cafe Lounge, Studio Remodel with the capacity to host 130 live studio audience members, and an exterior remodel, has been completed entirely debtfree! This new Headquarters is a topnotch place to begin to host what we believe will be a training ground for the next generation of evangelists. To think, in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, the Lord told us, “GO! Push forward. Don’t delay!” God has completed what he started just over a year ago completely paid off.

Currently, we are in talks with the city to obtain our permits to begin Phase Two. This will include a 1000seat auditorium. This will not only help host the School of Evangelism, but we believe it will be known as a place of God’s Glory and Presence.

We desire a place where people can come and be refreshed, renewed, and empowered to go and do the works of the Kingdom of God. We have been through a crazy two years where we saw worldwide pandemics, lockdowns, social distancing, societal unrest, and a drastic moral decline. Recently, I have been thinking of Ev. Nathan’s message, ‘Faith in the Fire.’ The more we begin to travel and speak to ministers around the world, the more it has become apparent that there is an outright attack to wipe people out within the Body of Christ.

This is precisely what happened to

the Church in Apostle Paul’s time.

The Church faced great persecution, which cost many their lives, including Stephen, who was full of faith and power. But the people of God were FAITHFUL to stay the course and run their race even when it seemed like there was no option of success.

That is the beauty of submitting your life to Jesus Christ.

Success is not measured by man’s standards. Success is found in a relationship with Christ. As they maintained obedience to the voice of God, those that made it through the very tumultuous season were able to reap the reward.

Even when it didn’t make sense to those around them, they were still carriers of the peace, which passes all understanding and joy unspeakable.

These genuine gifts of the Spirit are most cherished in times of trial.

I want to encourage you today to keep moving forward. Don’t let your circumstances determine your obedience to God’s voice. Even if it doesn’t make sense, if it is the direction

of the King, you are on the right path. In these seasons, we have pressed into the heart of God. The ability to discern His voice is a key to weathering the storms. Our God is faithful. He will complete what He has started in this ministry and in your life.

THE POWER OF RESTORATION

n Psalm 126, we read that the Lord had brought the captives back to Zion. Israel had been in captivity by the Babylonians and living in bondage for over half a century.

Many of their hopes and dreams of ever returning to what they had once known were dashed, as year after year, they remained in a foreign land without seeing change.

We read from the text about the power and process of restoration.

The Bible says when God brought them back to their land, they were like men who dreamed. With their first footsteps back onto the land, they made a decision to worship.

They recognized the work of restoration that God had started and praised Him. This decision to praise was based on a partial restoration in a dry place. They were back in

their land, but the walls were still broken around them. They were still surrounded by the destruction of what once was.

There was still work to be done if they were going to experience the total restoration God had for them. Here we uncover a powerful lesson of restoration in Scripture. They had to decide to keep sowing: in tears, in weeping, in trouble, in sorrow, in pain. Even though it was hard, they cried and wept as they pressed through the pain. If they were going to see total restoration, they could not stop now. They had to learn to work, sow, and rebuild in the painful season without giving up. The Bible delivers a powerful promise to all those who have had to sow in painful seasons. “Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy” (Psalm 126:5). Little did they know, their tears were irrigating

the seeds of their harvest and breakthrough as they sowed.

The Bible says they went out weeping but came in reaping with songs of joy and sheaves of harvest.

A mighty harvest is promised to all those who have sown in tears. During this time in our world and the aftermath of a global pandemic, many of us are finding ourselves in need of restoration. I want to encourage you today, our God is a God of total restoration.

Therefore, let us not become weary in well doing, for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up!

In the last days, God is using His church to bring restoration to the nations. We are committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus to see communities restored in the nations of the world.

THE SOUND OF HE AVEN

t is frequently mentioned that the disciples did not ask Jesus how to heal the sick or cast out demons, but they asked Him, “Lord, teach us to pray…” (Luke 11:1). There is so much to learn from the life of Jesus Christ! To me, one of the most amazing things about Jesus was the importance that He placed on the time that He went away to a secluded place to be with the Father. What an example! With all the giving and sacrifice that was a part of His every day, Jesus knew that His strength and rejuvenation came from being with His Father. Before the sun came up, before the rooster crowed, He climbed the mountains or went to a far-off place to commune with His Source.

Oh, that we may learn from the Master!

The power of the saints comes from a life of prayer. We must be so careful that we do not fall into the deception that ministry for the Lord is the

same as ministry to the Lord! If this is something you have heard before, be sure that it does not become a cliché. The Bible is so clear about this reality. We must know Him. To know Him, we must be with Him. Learn from The Master. He poured out consistently, relentlessly, to the people around Him. Yet, He knew that communing with the Father led to His inner fulfillment. The spirit man is fed by the Holy Spirit.

Out of that fullness should come the overflow, which is ministry.

I know in my personal life that the more I pursue my time with the Lord, the more I find my life actively in the will of God. When we live a life in His will, we settle into a relationship with Him that leads to asking questions and requests that are already on His heart.

“The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth” (Psalm

145:18). “Call on me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3). Look at the qualifier – we must call on Him! He is waiting for us to engage Him. Oh, what a marvelous God we serve. We serve the One, True God that desires a relationship with His people. What glory!

We count it such a privilege to call upon the greater community of those who support this ministry to join us in prayer. As you hear us say frequently, we cannot fulfill the mandate placed upon this ministry without

the prayers of the saints.

I am so thankful that God built the storyline of humanity to make it dependent upon each other. We are the Body of Christ – many members, yet One Body. We are “… being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit” (Ephesians 2:22). In that identity comes unity.

Unity brings one accord.

And that is the sound of heaven!

Prayer is a part of the fabric at Shake The Nations. It is an honor to start each morning in the office praying with the staff. Prayer changes atmospheres, and when we pray corporately, a unique power is released.

That is why we see such importance in a network of praying people to stand with us in this hour and this season.

established to bring together like-minded believers to intercede on behalf of the ministry.

Communication currently is centered around a
