Community Concluding Words Instated in 2048, the Packer group emerged out of an irreparably damaged climate and a fractured nation-state. The Packer people collectively came together through passions rooted in rejecting norms of the rapidly globalizing, and jeopardizing consumer culture. After constantly being told to override the wellbeing of the planet in pursuit of ones own needs, the dominant culture of unsustinable endeavors grew to dangerous and unstoppable lengths, and it was clearer than ever that the need for change was great. The Packers saw an urgency in sustaining and improving the climate and their achievments have been documented throughout their more than decade long activism.

In response, I hope this work exhibits the disparities that often exist beneath the rule of great powers. Allowing groups to create community in hopes of mobilizing change is the basis of revolution. Without this progress cannot be made. This process made me more aware of the challenges that often exist in maintaining control of our lives whether that be through the technology we use, the influence of popular opinion or the collective authourity corporations have in deciding how humans are able to live. Building a world enables us to create the change we wish to see which was a very engaging portion of this project. It provided the space to break down and truly envision the innerworkings of a world and what it may need to function.

Through the sustainable and self funded land stewardship Packers have maintained, a procedure of allyship and potential change was launched with C.A.T. members in the year 2052. The plan aimed to reduce the agendas of corporate E.S.C. control and increase the possibility of normalizing localized and sustainable systems in a greater way. Because of the small scale influence the Packer community had, it was important to unite for change by joining forces with C.A.T. members in order to access the internal intelligence they posessed. This union not only created hope for a deteriorating planet but brought power to two otherwise greatly depreciated groups.

During the 2050’s about 2500 C.A.T. members left E.S.C.’s and joined Packer communities.

Packer and C.A.T. groups hope to recruit more people and increase this number in hopes of restoring individuals of civil freedoms and improving the wellbeing of the planet.

- living sustainably as Packers do involves scaling down our needs and demonstrating a more primitive consciousness - exercising this mindfulness can take up many forms such as composting, reducing our need for single use products, enjoying whole or nutrient rich foods, consuming and trading locally, and many more - a community structure that mirrors that of an ecovillage

Ecology Decade long systems of globalization, urbanization, and unsustainable trade endeavors have caused Earth to succumb to great damages in areas of weather, composition, the collapse of many life supporting ecosystems, the critical endangerment of countless animal species, and the depletion of nonrenewable resources. As a result, naturally existing biomes have been destroyed and their functions have been completely altered. Species have mutated and evolved to meet these new surroundings. Although humans have sought protection from atmospheric changes for many years, they have done very little to improve or reverse them. In response, Packers have congregated in off grid areas and have upcycled collected materials from collapsed infrastructure as well as scraps from the abandoned neighborhoods left behind in the United States to construct their communities.

Technology

- the figure wand has two main features enabling communication amongst E.S.C. members - the first feature is intended for forms of solitary communication, which when applied, projects a hologram of the active constituents - the figure wand’s second feature enables citizens to exist comfortably among others when leaving the seclusion of ther living sites by casting a transparent film like structure around the person, this way they are protected from potential illness

A life existing in E.S.C. community means the deep involvment of technology in all citizens do. Because E.S.C.’S are a community that have grown so dependant on intelligence driven technology, they have become a group that is compromised without it. Beyond the regulation of life supporting automation, E.S.C. citizens are simply puppets without a hand. Most operations of life here are ingrained with technology. E.S.C. citizens live in vertically stacked pod units, spending most of their time here unless protected by barrier method in the outside world. Being in the physical presence of other humans is threatening for E.S.C. occupants and brings on life threatening symptoms. Inside these administered communities, marginalized groups are reduced to task bearing citizens and are expected to oversee positions in monitoring the cities circuit boards. People of color, and other minority groups occupy the circuit assist teams also known as C.A.T. These groups have been pushed out of the city centers into cyberslum living arrangments.

The consumer culture of the early 21st century rose to levels of unparalleled power in past civilizations. The dominant culture’s agenda in delocalizing modern consumption and producing at grand scales exhibited the greed ridden objective of a people who disregard the central themes of a sustainable existence. In doing so, the user dominant U.S. nation rose in clustered populaces of elevated super cities, known as E.S.C.’S. These cities maintained control of a deteriorating North America and held great influence on the growth and direction of world culture. The human existence in these cities is aided by technological advances designed by these corporate capital systems to disable and disarm our human independance. This culture does not have the capacity to recognize and celebrate genetic variation, but instead it seems they see each body as a vessel for manipulation. This is the influence that Packers hoped to disrupt in future generations.
