Inclusive Sensory Design
MOOD BOARD
BUBBLE DIAGRAM
Creating inclusive interior spaces requires consideration of all the senses of the body. Sight allows for visual orientation, auditory sense enables hearing of important information, smell can create atmosphere and mood, while touch and feel provide physical comfort. The integration of these senses like puzzle pieces ensures that all individuals can enjoy and navigate interior spaces, regardless of ability or background.
SITE ANALYSIS- Qasr Al Hosn

ZONE 01 - SIGHT
Visual cues, such as contrast, color, and lighting, can improve accessibility and create a welcoming environment for all individuals. The dynamic walls create a forced pathway that lead into an exhbition space with seating. The ceiling invokes you to pay attention to it and if you look carefully, you may notice it‘s inspired from the nerves of the eye.
ZONE 02- AUDITORY
Sound plays a significant role in creating an inclusive environment. Interior spaces should consider factors like acoustics, sound levels, and the use of sound cues to create a comfortable and accessible space for all individuals. Customized display units with specialized speakers are incorporated in this zone to enjoy the full experience.
ZONE 03- SCENT
The sense of smell can be used in museums to enhance the visitor experience and create an inclusive environment. Thoughtful use of scents can evoke emotions, memories, and cultural associations, allowing individuals to connect with the exhibits on a deeper level.
PLAN
ZONE 04- TOUCH & FEEL
Inclusive museum design considers the sense of touch and feel, creating exhibits that cater to a range of tactile experiences. This can include interactive displays, textured surfaces, and Braille labels, allowing visitors with varying abilities to engage with the exhibits.
