COMMENTS FROM STUDENTS
I had a really great experience with OPES. My conversations were very fruitful and helpful when completing my application as well as thinking about my short and long term goals following graduation.
Thank y'all SO much!
I had a good experience It was easy to work with the office There was a lot of good information given out a out my scholarship and they worked with me a lot to help make the best application I could.
I can't thank you guys enough for all of your help and continued support.
I thought the office did a great job!
I wish I was able to get more opinions from people within the office instead of having to solely work with Dr. Hoffman.
I would love to see maybe more outreach events to prospective applicants I think a lot of people find out about these opportunities too late in the undergrad career; however, that is probably something the Honors College needs to advertise to students better and more effectively. While the work that OPES does is amazing, the office is short staffed. Dr. Hoffman’s leadership has been incredibly helpful. However, there needs to be more of an effort for outreach to students both inside and outside the Honors College (especially outside the Presidential and Provost scholars’ community) There are exceptional but undiscovered scholars all over the University, but they just are not aware of OPES or the various scholarships. David and the current team can only do so much in reaching out to these students, and OPES must seek the assistance of other works to achieve more concerted outreach effort
