Sheila Antrum is senior vice president and chief operating officer at UCSF Health. She ensures that the operations of patient services across the health system align with UCSF Health's vision and strategic objectives. She oversees strategic implementation of UCSF Health's affiliations, finances, quality and safety for adult patient services across UCSF Health's locations and affiliates on the west side of the bay and has matrixed responsibilities for operations in children's and cancer services. Nursing, clinical services, facilities, supply chain, major construction projects, pharmaceutical, women's services and perioperative services report to her.

Antrum has been with the University of California for more than two decades. She recently served as chief nursing and patient care services officer for UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco, and previously worked at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center and the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine. She holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Hampton University and a master's in health services administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.

Humanitarian Award Recipients

A Sista’s Touch A Sista’s Touch is a tax-exempt (501c3) nonprofit public benefit corporation formed in the State of California in January 2017 to serve the Oakland and greater Bay Area communities.

The mission of A Sista’s Touch is to cultivate and celebrate Black Excellence through the personal and professional inspirations of African American women across all generations, with a foundational focus on our adolescent girls.

The aim of A Sista’s Touch is threefold: Edify, Elevate, and Celebrate Excellence. Our platform is to provide fundamental resources to Edify in areas of new interests, to offer necessary support to Elevate in pursued interests, and to cultivate communal success by Celebrating Excellence.

In 2018, we began hosting, We Run Oakland: For Our Children, an annual charity 5k run/walk in Oakland that connects the community with local organizations who stand on the front lines in providing supportive services to those impacted by human trafficking, along with preventative services so others are knowledgeable of the pitfalls associated with human trafficking. The main goal of the charity event is to bridge the gap between community, resources, and self-care. On Saturday, August 28th, we are excited to host our 4th annual charity 5k.

To advance the development and confidence, we edify our young Queens through our A Sista’s Always Prepared programming. The Puberty Queen is a program designed to intersect the perception of preparation and the cultivation of confidence for young girls ages 8-13 on their puberty path. The Financial Literacy is a program designed to begin the process of closing the financial gap and teach fiscal responsibility; a partnership that has been established with Bank of the West.

Dr. Shelitha R. Campbell, DNP, MSN, BSN, FNP-BC, APRN, PHN For almost 21 years, Dr. Campbell has been contributing to the advancement of the discipline of nursing through personal and communal edification. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of San Francisco, a Masters in Nursing from San Francisco State University with a certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice with an emphasis in Executive Leadership from Loyola University New Orleans.

From a CNA to an Advanced Practice nurse, Dr. Campbell’s work experience includes: clinical practice in acute care, home health, and community-based clinics, academia, management, and leadership. Dr. Campbell currently works as an Assistant Professor at Samuel Merritt University in the Family Nurse Practitioner Graduate Program and is a provider in Family Practice at Roots Community Health Center in Oakland.

Beyond Dr. Campbell’s professional accomplishments as a nurse, being of service to others is a huge influence, which shines through as the Co-Founder and CEO of a 501(c)3 nonprofit public benefit corporation, A Sista’s Touch. While the roles of clinician and CEO keep her busy, the most humbling and rewarding honor is that of wife and mother.

Jaliza Johnson, MBA, MSN, RN, PHN Jaliza has successfully navigated her career from being a Sales and Marketing Executive to now becoming a respected nurse leader. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University Hayward (East Bay), and a Master of Business Administration degree from San Francisco State University. With her career transition into nursing, Jaliza received both her Bachelor’s and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from San Francisco State University.

Jaliza has risen quickly within her nursing career which spans from working as a CNA, to a clinical bedside nurse, and now as a nurse leader.

She currently works as an Assistant Patient Care Manager on a Blood and Marrow Transplant Unit. Outside of her managerial responsibilities, Jaliza is involved in various nursing committees, panels, and has a passion for promoting inclusion and diversity within the field of nursing.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jaliza enjoys giving back to her local community, which lead her to become the Co-Founder and COO of a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, A Sista’s Touch. Her most rewarding accomplishment and role is that of a wife and mother.

Requiem to a Nurse (Explanation) We try to envision a group of nurses at a graveside, recognizing God as giver of life, and bowing to His will to recall His own. “We walk in paths”, etc. refers to duties of nurses ministering to minds and bodies of men. Through this ministry, justice, mercy, and love are given expressions and God is interpreted to men through faithful service. This is the way Jesus walked.

Verse two continues to supplications begging that He accept this One whom he has recalled, and in the vacancy leaves some token of favor as comfort to saddened hearts.

In the last stanza, we realize that we are but a step from death. One by one we shall join those who have gone before.

Guest Solo Artists Gregory Keith McLeod Gregory Keith McLeod II. is the second eldest born to The Reverend Gregory Keith and Savalla Nicole McLeod on July 4, 2009, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Currently, he’s a sixth grader at Saville Middle School in Las Vegas, Nevada. At Saville, he participates in the band, playing the Alto Saxophone. He also serves as a school ambassador. Gregory’s favorite subject is math. In his leisure time, Gregory loves listening to music, making beats, watching movies, basketball, and football. His favorite teams are the Alabama Crimson Tideand Los Angeles Lakers. Gregory loves spending time with his family.

Amber Marie Carroll Amber Marie was born in San Francisco, California in the month of April 2007. She goes to OSA(Oakland School for the Arts), and she has been going there since the 6th grade. She’s always beeninterested in the arts and singing and acting. Amber Marie started to learn piano at the age of 7 andcontinued her studies at Roses in Concrete community school.

Amber Marie considers herself to be a singer songwriter, although she takes more pleasure in engineering than writing the song itself. Amber Marie has recently started learning guitar, she takes online lessons at guitar center, and continues to learn piano using simply piano. One person she really looks up to in the music industryis Beyonce. Not only because her music is amazing beyond levels, but also because of her work ethic. The type of music I would like to make is more R&B and Pop.

Keynote Speaker Rev. Dr. Ambrose F. Carroll, Sr.

Rev. Dr. Ambrose F. Carroll is one of the nation’s premiere Practical Theologians. He has been converted and has been in the Gospel Ministry for over 25 years. At present he is the proud pastorof “The Church by The Side of The Road “in Berkeley CA. and the founder of the Green “The Church Campaign” which is a national environmental organization for the Black Church.

A 1987 graduate of Oakland High School and a 1991 graduate of Florida Memorial University in Miami, Ambrose now holds Theological degrees from Morehouse School of Religion in Atlanta GA and United Theological Seminary in Dayton Ohio, along with a Master of Business Admin. from Golden Gate University in San Francisco CA. He is married to the former Mrs. Katresa M. Williams and they have three children, Amber Marie 13; Ambrose Jr. 12; and Amani Nicole 7.
