Monday, April 23

Morning Matches (Boca Grove) • Two-man competition played in groups of six off both #1 and #10 tees.

(Foursome Format) • Tee times: To begin at 8:00 AM until 8:20 AM. Contestants Lunch • Lunch will be served between rounds.

Afternoon Matches (Boca Grove) • Three-Ball Match Play off both #1 and #10 tees.

• Tee times: To begin at 1:15 PM until 2:05 PM. • Optional Skins Game Pool – $20.00 (cash skins game) Awards Reception (immediately following play) • Located at Main Dining Room at Boca Grove Departure

Match Formats ➢

36-Hole Match Play Competition

Round 1 – Morning Matches: Foursome Format – Matches played in groups of six. Each team will be competing in a dual match format against the opposing teams in their grouping. Partners must play alternately from the teeing grounds and alternately during the play of each hole. Penalty strokes do not affect the order of play.

Round 2 – Afternoon Matches: Three-Ball Match Play. Three players play a match against one another, each playing his own ball. Each player is playing two distinct matches.

All matches will be worth a maximum of three points with single points being awarded for the front nine, back nine and 18-hole total. Ties will result in split points. If there is a tie in team points, the team in possession of the Nelson Cup will retain it for another year. 54 Points Available in the Morning, 108 Points Available in the Afternoon, 162 Total Points Awarded.

Lodging The Section and each representing Chapter will cover all lodging expenses for Sunday night, which is based on double occupancy (players will have a roommate). Below you will find a room list. If you do not see your name and you need a room OR if you see your name and you don’t need a room, please contact Brett Graf at (561) 293-2838 as soon as possible. Players will be staying at the Courtyard by Marriott in Boca Raton.

Uniform Adidas will provide each player with an adidas golf shirt and a pair of adidas tennis shoes. Each team will be uniformed in like colors, but different from the other two teams. Uniforms will be issued on Sunday night after dinner. Unless otherwise instructed by your Chapter Tournament Chair, please dress in light neutral colored slacks for coordination purposes. If you are unable to attend the dinner Sunday night, you will receive your uniform Monday morning.

Sunday Evening Pairings Social The Sunday evening social will take place at Duffy’s – Boca Town Center Location 21212 St. Andrews Blvd.

Charity Involvement The Nelson Cup was named after Charlie and Sue Nelson in honor of their lifetime commitment to the game of golf, especially junior golf. This competition provides the Nelson family the opportunity to continue the efforts of their beloved mother, father and family in providing financial assistance to junior golfers who otherwise would not be able to participate. The Nelson family has been busy soliciting monies for junior golf causes and have raised over $25,000 through this event. If you would like to get involved, additional contributions are welcomed.

The event is open to any team of two (2) PGA members / Associates in good standing who are aged 50+.
