Dirigido hacia los Dentistas Generales, Asistentes Dentales

Recommended for: Dentists , Dental Assistants

Patients today are no longer willing to have their teeth sanded down for fix bridges; implant dentistry is here to stay. The demand for implants is growing exponentially,… it is the fastest growing area in dentistry. It is clear that implant dentistry is not the domain of specialist, the demand is too great. Similar to extracting teeth, GPs and restorative dentist should perform the majority of implant procedures and refer the difficult cases to the specialist. Implant dentistry should not be only a privilege for the rich and famous. In this practical workshop Dr. Ruiz will present the most logical system to select, place and restore simple implants in normal to narrow bone. He will also discuss ways to make it more affordable for the patient. These techniques can be implemented immediately, and are in accordance with provisions placed by the 2010 Guidelines of the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Ruiz will also explain how to avoid unsatisfactory results.

Placing and restoring implants in normal to narrow bone without bone augmentation grafts is an indispensable skill, which will increase you bottom line at least 20 to 30% each year. At the end of this course you will: • Know how to choose between regular, narrow and mini-implants. • Know a real world approach for lowering cost and make it more affordable to patients. • Know what x-rays and records are really necessary. • Know when and how to use surgical templates. • Understand simple surgical procedures to insure safe and predictable results. • Know when it is better to refer.

Our Lectures... provide an opportunity for the entire dental team to have a great educational experience. This year most lectures are offered in English and Spanish

Don’t leave anyone out - bring the entire team!

Effective periodontal therapy requires regular management of periopathogens prompting localized inflammatory responses, not an easy task for millions of patients with persistent periodontal diseases. This presentation offers a scientific look at subgingival biofilms and a therapeutic method that integrates debridement and scaling with prescription tray delivery of medication. When held in place with the specially customized tray, the medication lyses bacterial cell walls and changes the microenvironment of the sulcus through oxygenation. The overarching goal is ongoing management of subgingival biofilms and optimal oral health. Importantly, the technique does not rely on antibiotics, resistances to which are at critical levels. Offices implementing the method report better patient outcomes and additional revenue.

CHANGES TO YOUR REGISTRATION Modern dental implant therapy relies on temporary restorations which serve as protoypes for the final restorations as well as to help develop subgingival soft tissue contours for long term functional and esthetic success. Properly made temporaries can protect the immature peri-implant structures and are a key step in the fabrication of the final restorations. In this program the dentist and dental auxiliary team members will learn to fabricate temporary implant restorations which can be easily removed for try in of final restorative components and/or adjusted as necessary to change soft tissue and esthetic factors. Several types of temporary restorations including screw retained, cement retained, splinted full arch and single restorations will be discussed along with the pros and cons of each. The program will consist of a lecture followed by a hands-on portion in which participants will fabricate temporaries on implant abutments. Clinical pearls to reduce chair time and improve outcomes as well as materials, will be discussed during this technique course.
