HEAD OF SCHOOL When I started serving at SFCA in 1995, the school was only in its second year of existence. Only grades K-6 were offered. The Hope Building, Joy Annex and Grace Building did not exist, nor did any of the athletic fields. Students used textbooks (not devices), the Faith Gym was also our lunchroom, phone calls were made via a landline, letters were typed on word processors, and I hand-scored tests using an E-Z Grader. Yes, they are still sold on Amazon today! We had only 14 staff members. Two have served with me all these years – Bill Catto and Susie Kackley, and two stepped away for a time and came back – Sherri Jacobs and Rachel Norton. It is a testament to SFCA’s culture that the five of us are still here. After 4 years serving in the classroom, I stepped into a leadership role. For the following 25 years I was blessed to be part of SFCA’s facility and program growth.Though every year had its challenges, God’s grace and provision covered them all. Each year we grew, either physically, spiritually, academically, or programmatically.Yet, SFCA’s Mission remains the same - to partner with Christian parents to provide their children with a distinctively biblical and academically excellent education that will equip students to be godly leaders and to successfully engage the culture for Christ. We now have over 200 staff members instead of 14, 1250 students (Infants to 12th grade) instead of 250, and graduating classes over 60 instead of 6. To God be the glory! As the SFCA family, let us always draw into focus God’s blessings and celebrate what He has done. This fall we welcomed 234 new families (Infant-12th grade). 25 students trusted Jesus for salvation! Numerous projects were funded and completed: modular building including a covered ramp and beautiful landscaping, the southwest parking lot repavement, and Joy Annex roof replacement. Added a new Athletic Concession Trailer, a softball batting cage, and a new Transit Van. Added the Innovation and Investigation (I&I) Lab in Elementary, a hands-on workshop class in Middle School, and Game Development in High School. Varsity Football earned its first district title, Boy’s Cross Country Team earned another district title, and after a great state performance, Cheer is heading to Nationals. The band started “marching” at Friday night football games. 104 High School students enrolled in the Student Leadership Academy. May God continue to bestow His grace upon SFCA.

Operation Christmas Child - Shoebox Chapel Operation Christmas Child Chapel Blessing! Our preschool through 12th grade students and staff came together for one of our favorite traditions... Shoebox Chapel. As a school community, we packed and collected 1,271 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes this year! Each box represents a gift of joy, hope, and the love of Christ being sent to children around the world. Moments like these remind us of the power of serving together and the beautiful hearts of our King’s community. Thank you, SFCA families, faculty, and students for making an eternal impact...one box at a time.
Christmas Joy at SFCA The weeks leading up to Christmas break were filled with festive cheer. Staff and teachers enjoyed a special Christmas breakfast that provided time for fellowship and celebration, while sightings of Buddy the Elf around campus brought plenty of laughter and excitement for students (and staff) of all ages. A Christmas shirt day added extra holiday spirit to the school day, and our second and fourth grade students contributed to the season in a special way by creating ornaments for the Children’s Tree Trail at the Edison Ford Estates. Each activity helped create a joyful atmosphere as our school prepared hearts for the real celebration of Christmas...Jesus’ birth.
Our middle school drama students recently took the stage for a delightful performance of What Happened After Once Upon a Time, showcasing their creativity, confidence, and growing theatrical skills. Directed by Mrs. Jacquelyn Toleman, the production came to life through humor, expressive storytelling, and strong collaboration. Students gained valuable experience in acting, stage presence, and teamwork, and the performance reflected their hard work and dedication. This production also highlighted how the arts at SFCA encourage students to develop their God-given talents while building confidence both on and off the stage.
Our high school drama students took on two productions this season, Supervillains Anonymous and Race Day. Each brought humor, fast-paced scenes, and strong performances to the stage. Under the direction of Mrs. Jacquelyn Toleman, students embraced the challenge of developing distinct characters and delivering confident, engaging performances that kept audiences entertained. These shows highlighted the maturity, focus, and creative energy of our high school performers, while reflecting the depth and growth of the drama program at SFCA.

Middle School Servant’s Workshop REAL SKILLS. REAL SERVICE. REAL IMPACT. Our new Middle School Servant’s Workship Class, instructed by Mr. Andy Duncan, Middle School Principal, is giving students meaningful, hands-on experiences that prepare them for both life and service. Through this class, students are learning practical skills such as patching drywall, constructing birdhouses, changing a vehicle’s oil, checking tire pressure, power washing, and safely operating a lawn mower. Beyond building confidence and competence, the class emphasizes the biblical importance of serving others and giving back, teaching students that worship is not only expressed through words, but through willing hands and hearts devoted to Christ.
reFuel This month in reFuel chapel we welcomed back Caleb Catto, SFCA Class of 2018. Caleb challenged our middle and high school students with three powerful truths: 1 You can always give more. God is continually shaping us; we are never a finished product. 2 God is the God of hills and valleys. No matter what you face, you are never alone. 3 To achieve something, you must first believe in it. We’re grateful for alumni who return to pour into our current King’s!
