We made it through January and A LOT snow days! But February is here, hopefully the Groundhog will be nice to us and let spring happen! We have some amazing NEW lines coming in this month, and some FREE PATTERNS to go with them! Check out our newest issue now!
New in February We love our live unboxings on Facebook and YouTube. But sometimes life gets away from us an we have to get it on the shelves without getting a grand reveal done! Inspiration in FREE PATTERNS! Sometimes when I am on social media I feel like I’m going down a rabbit hole of timesuck, but sometimes I can find a world of inspiration! Over the last 4 years we have been finding ourselves always on the lookout for new sew-alongs, block of the months, just new things that can be used as inspiration. Both Moda and Riley Blake (I feel) corner this market with their annual “Block Heads” and “Block Challenge”. They are weekly releases to sew along with and end up making a finished project. I, (Kim), have been following both groups on social media for quite some time, and decided to give it a go this year. So far I have done 3 of 5 released Block Heads and I am so shocked on how well it is coming together! I have been using Fancy That Design Co.’s “Woodland & Wildflowers” and am in love. I chose to make the first 3 blocks and make it into a table runner/wall hanging to display in the store. That’s the best part about being on social media - the INSPIRATION! Our website offers as many FREE patterns as we can find that go along with lines featured at our store. Many of the fabric designers and companies use them to help showcase their fabrics. But like mom always says, “patterns are only suggestions, you can easily make it your own.” Grab that graph paper, Google how to do a specific type block, look at free patterns for quilts and blocks and maybe you can figure it out on your own. Try out new tools, new techniques, get outside of that comfort zone and see what you can create! In the meantime CLICK HERE to check out all of our FREE PATTERNS we have on our website.
