The library is teaming up with Quaker Valley Schools, the United Way, and the Union Aid Society to bring the BookStop program to the Sewickley Valley. This partnership distributes free books to local children by bringing the books to their communities on our “book runs”.

The Sewickley Library will be going on the second book run of the summer on Wednesday, July 31 (Rain-date: Thursday, August 1) . Ea c h b ook r u n has five stops where books will be distributed.

On Display This Summer In July, the display cases will continue to exhibit the work of Steven W. Justice until July 13. Stop by between July 14 and the end of the month for a mystery exhibit.

During August, the cases will feature the artwork of Annie Weidman, a Pittsburgh artist who uses colorful packaging discards to comprise her collages.
The library is excited to introduce new Playaway Launchpads for kids! These pre -loaded tablets offer age-appropriate videos and activities for all different ages, with recommended age groups from preschool to age 10. The Launchpad tablets are really handy because they don’t require a wifi connection or time to download content. They are also made for little hands and can stand up to bumps and rough landings. Launchpads are ready for check-out just in time for summer fun!
