Dementia Friends - Wednesday, April 24, 10:30 - 11:30 AM OR 2:00 - 3:00 PM This one-hour session is a discussion led by a Dementia Friends Champion. It is not a training session. You’ll learn what dementia is, what it’s like to live with the disease, and some tips for communicating with people living with dementia. Everyone who attends is asked to turn their new understanding of dementia into a practical action that can help someone living in your community. Spring Bound V More than a dozen Pittsburgh area artists, some well known and some new, will show their works at Spring Bound V a t t he l i bra ry on Saturday, April 6th. Among t he artists featured will be Mark Panza, whose merged photos and photo boxes have been a hit at previous Spring Bounds; Ron Donoughe, whose work can be found at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Heinz History Center, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art and elsewhere; and Judy Barie, who is Director of Galleries at Chautauqua Institution and who has had work exhibited around the country. The evening will also feature live music by John Burgh and a special guest. Proceeds from the event benefit the library. Advance purchase is recommended.
