Physical Education at Seward County Community College What is Physical Education?
A physical education degree provides graduates with an opportunity to help improve the health and wellness of individuals across multiple generations. The physical education program at SCCC provides students with a broad knowledge base in science, physical education, teaching, and communication. With multiple facilities including a swimming pool, wellness center, weight room, multipurpose gymnasium, tennis courts, softball field, and baseball diamond, students are able to learn and participate in a wide variety of activities. A degree in physical education from SCCC meets the needs of personal trainers seeking further qualifications or certifications, fitness program leaders and instructors, and fitness center personnel. In addition, the program is a solid educational foundation for students who wish to transfer to a four-year institution to continue their education.

Career Opportunities
Physical education graduates can find employment in the fields of exercise science, sports medicine, health behavior science, sports management, athletic training, helath and physical education, and outdoor education. Specific career opportunities may include physical education instructor at the elementary, high school or college level, varsity coach at the high school or college level, personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach, or sports and recreation director.
