Cosmetology at Seward County Community College What is Cosmetology?

The cosmetology program at SCCC gives students the opportunity to develop a wide variety of technical skills in hair design, nail technology, and skin care. Through classroom and clinical instruction, students learn the latest in cutting, style, color, and hair care techniques; pedicures, manicures, tips, and nail techniques; and facials, waxing, makeup, and skincare techniques. **Students interested in studying cosmetology at SCCC must complete an admissions application for the college and the program specific admissions application.

Degree and Certificate Options Available

Associate of Applied Science: 1,500 clock hour, 64-credit program (2 years) Certificate of Completion: 1,500 clock hour, 45-credit program (11 months)

No matter what degree or certificate option you pursue at SCCC the cosmetology field offers a wide variety of career options including: hairstylist, make-up artist, skin care consultant, nail technician, salon or spa manager/owner, hair colorist, photo stylist, product educator, distributor/sales consultant, and more.
