Brisbane Lions Indigenous Guernsey Design

Ash McGrath is a retired Indigenous AFL star who played a whopping 214 games for the Brisbane Lions from 2001 - 2014, winning a premiership with the team in 2003. Ash, along with ex teammate and good friend, Des Headland, recently designed the Lion's 2023 Indigenous Guernsey, which is a symbolic representation of their stories.

The right side of the design illustrates Ash and his family. The U shape symbols representing Ash, his brothers, and his parents. His family connections are the Wongi people in Kalgoorlie and the Yamatji people of WA Ash was born in the small town of Northam, home of the Ballading people, and the place where his Football journey began

Since hanging up his own footy boots, he has turned to helping other young indigenous boys as part of the Clontarf Foundation We are privileged to have Ash on site supporting our Indigenous boys 2 days a week and thank him for his contribution to our College community
