WHOLE CHILD WHOLE COMMUNITY

The Seven Hills School is a learning community whose mission is to develop the intellect, engage the spirit, and foster respect for, and responsibility to, our world.

Whole Child, Whole Community

T

he Seven Hills School opened its doors in 1962 with an innovative vision—to create a different kind of learning experience for children. The result was a focus on the whole child by pairing educational

excellence with character building, and combining mastery of content with the skills and attitudes necessary to be a confident contributor to the school community and the wider world. We are a community that joyfully inspires a love of learning, instills an appreciation for nature and the environment, fosters respect for service and celebrates inclusivity. In the spirit of continuous improvement and as our 60th anniversary draws near, we are launching an updated strategic plan that preserves the time-honored traditions that make Seven Hills the remarkable school it is today. Our Whole Child, Whole Community approach prioritizes all aspects of our students’ learning experience and Seven Hills’ long-term sustainability by building upon the groundwork laid in previous strategic plans and serving as our guide as we move confidently into our future. Consider this a roadmap to our 60th year and beyond. We look forward to embarking on this exciting journey with the entire Seven Hills community— past, present and future.

s a community, we are responsible for modeling the active stewardship of our school and the surrounding environment. We are committed to securing our long-

term financial sustainability through sound fiscal management of the resources necessary to advance our mission, program and facilities. OUR ROADMAP Invest in student learning, gathering and performance spaces— both new and re-imagined—through strategic campus master planning and a bold fundraising initiative Design an updated tuition assistance model reflective of the school’s mission and values Create opportunities for enhanced diversity and optimized student-teacher ratios by expanding Middle School enrollment and engaging in community partnerships Grow our endowment to support strategic priorities and reduce our reliance on tuition increases, while exploring partnerships and alternative revenue opportunities Explore possibilities for our Early Childhood Education (ECE) program to reach into the local community for teacher training and professional development partnerships with local colleges and schools of education Build stronger connections with parents, alumni, alumni parents and the broader East Bay community as we approach the school’s 60th anniversary
