SETON SEASONAL A GLIMPSE INTO WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IN DJERAN & MAKURU SEASON
Year 9–11 Music students performed at Seton's Live & Local event at Clancy's Fish Pub, entertaining a lively audience of family and friends.
HELLO FROM MR WALLACE I am thrilled to share some of the activities that happened at Seton this term, alongside everything our students have been achieving in the classroom. Term 2 presented so many fantastic opportunities for students to give back to the community, develop their leadership skills and pursue their passions. There are far too many to cover in this newsletter, but if you'd like a snapshot of our busy term, ask your parents to show you our Facebook and Instagram pages. Earlier this term, our Certificate IV Dance students conducted workshops for the Year 6 students joining Seton in 2026. Their expertise and passion for dance inspired a love of the performing arts while helping our future students begin their transition to Seton. Year 11 and 12 students Abbie, Josie and Lucy launched the Push-Up Challenge to raise awareness and funds for mental health, demonstrating their compassion and commitment to our College community. We have been incredibly impressed by their leadership and by the number of students from Years 7– 12 who have taken part. With more than 100 students attending each Wednesday, the challenge has been a tremendous success and a wonderful example of student-led initiative. We also celebrated our spectacular Year 12 Dance Showcase, where our Certificate IV Dance students led troupes from Years
At Seton's Live & Local, our Music students swapped the classroom for one of Fremantle's iconic live music venues, performing at Clancy's Fish Pub before a packed crowd of family and friends. Year 12 Media students Veronika and Georgiana were also there to capture the atmosphere through photography (including the image above) and film, creating a lasting record of a memorable evening. We were also incredibly proud to see three members of our Class of 2025 recognised for the outstanding artwork they completed in Visual Arts last year, with their work exhibited at the Art Gallery of Western Australia's The West Australian Pulse exhibition. Lauren's artwork covered the gallery's entire entry wall, Hannah's featured on the cover of The Sunday Times Magazine, and Eleanor's was showcased across the gallery's social media channels. Our students also enjoyed outstanding success on the sporting field. We celebrated three Grand Final premierships in Year 7 Netball, Year 9 Netball and Year 10 Volleyball, while eight Seton teams reached their respective Grand Finals. At the ACC Cross Country Carnival, Year 8 student Makai claimed first place in a field of more than 300 runners. We also congratulate Lachie and Samson on their selection in the 2026 School Sport WA AFL State Team. We look forward to sharing a different focus in the Term 3 edition of Seton Seasonal.
