Transformational Conflict
Jesus said, "Blessed are the Peacemakers , for they will be called children of God" (MT 5:9) Yet, the process of making peace - working to achieve genuine peace - can be intimidating! Still, every conflict is an opportunity - an invitation - to grow spiritually. The outcome will nurture healing in our lives, our families, our broader communities - even the world. This workshop will explore barriers and ways forward in learning to navigate conflict with both courage and kindness. Nina Barnes, the Vice President for Student Life and Human Resources, began serving at the University of Northwestern–St. Paul in December 2000. Nina holds a Master of Arts degree in Spiritual Formation and Leadership, along with numerous certifications including – Human Resources Management, Conflict Coaching & Mediation, and Christian Spiritual Direction. Outside of Northwestern, Nina has a private spiritual direction and coaching practice, in addition to serving as a speaker for conferences and retreats. Nina has extensive board experience and currently serves on the board of directors for Transform Minnesota. However, her most cherished roles are mother to an adult son and “daughter-in-love,” along with her newest title of “Gramma Nina” to her sweet granddaughter.
