Genau genommen war BOSSA NOVA ursprünglich gar kein Tanz, sondern eine Bewegung. Im sehr modernen gesellschaftlichen Klima Brasiliens der 50er Jahre fand die „Neue Welle“ bis Ende der 60er Jahre ihren Höhepunkt. Künstler experimentierten mit neuen Ausdrucksformen in Film und Musik, und Europa ließ sich nur zu gerne von dieser Welle erfassen. Cool Jazz, flüsternder Gesangsstil begleitet von virtuos gespielter Gitarre machten den BOSSA NOVA auch hierzulande schnell zum Dancing Star. Strictly speaking, the BOSSA NOVA was originally a movement rather than a dance. Brazil‘s „New Wave“ was born in the highly modern social climate of the 1950‘s and crested in the 1960‘s. During this time of artistic experimentation, the cool jazz, virtuoso guitar playing and unique song stylings of the BOSSA NOVA soon established it as a contemporary classic in the world of dance. Nachtmann‘s BOSSA NOVA series is an interpretation in glass of this joyful musical experimentation.
