Ghazal to Pera Belle now love is a tearing paper sea which of blue is thin i don’t ask that from where a pair of indelible hazel eyes burn the sky falls down on our life and slim letters spread on us lame birds bleed to the treble clef of the loneliness now life is a ruined wall which i scratch to my dreams who hush so much disappointment which i couldn’t know only fuzzy poems exculpate me which i baste to my dumb life my jumbled days stammer even though i turn around myself so many times now my skin is an unrhymed verse without your hands i don’t ask that from where a pair of indelible hazel eyes burn Serkan Engin The Tower Journal/ Winter 2010


The G Point of the Night our skins have touched to the G point of the night there is a red earthquake at the lonely places of the skin the desire has been chatty when your breath covered my body your breath is the prologue of your rainy motions i am the discoverer of your body’s secret city my hands has travelled by spelling through the white atlas of your skin the wasps of my tongue have settled in the weeny poppy field which is at the south of your face oh my love, the subjective of my life oh your boobs are as the Dardanelles that can not be passed by the enemy fleet they are spanning from one shoulder of yours to the other as the Great Wall of China the hegemony is at your boobs absolutely at the night which has cross eyed spelling Serkan Engin Mediterranean Poetry/ April 2011


The Broken Apprentice i couldn’t repair the bonnet of my life as i have made my heart a hammer my master disgorges his feeling lowly to me he expends my youth as oakum my desires couldn’t being welded anymore i have been broken from yesterday to tomorrow they say “your offender is the government” “and your procreation generous family” - really, how can I go to the government my big brother? they beat the mig blue of my dreams continuously my innocence has been nauseated to abuse and tobacco even though they didn’t buy overalls to me it is my big brother’s childhood which i have dressed the exhaust smoke reeks to the freshness of my hopes as the chalk dust have to whitens my mind the steel prickles of the pain prick to my heart moreover my palms are callus field - tell me the truth my big brothee, is it suitable for me the blue of the school uniform and a red backpack Serkan Engin

The Childhood of the Homelessness they draw knife to the grief and throw razor to the hell with rubbing their courage by the thinner their stomachs are deserted and their dreams are blind their pupils are a pair of dices shaken to the pain they walk with suicide march violence suckles their teazel existance they are the discard of the life their history is read as welter of blood their innocence has been engraved from their skins their hopes has been overturned before sailing desolateness birds settle on their shoulders their necks are written italic in every language : the childhood of the homelesness rots as being bud Serkan Engin


Serkan Engin:

A Turkish poet, Serkan Engin was born in 1975 in Izmit/Turkey. He was influenced by his parents to study at Navy Military Lycee but was dismissed from Navy Military High School in 1995 because he was undisciplined. He then studied at technical high school in Kocaeli University, and now he is a vigorous antimilitarist. His poems have been published in more than fifty literature journals in Turkey and he has also published a poem manifest at a literature journal in 2004, “Imagist Socialist Poetry”. He has tried to start a new poetry movement in Turkish Poetry. He has also published numerous articles in literature journals about literary theory according to his poetry movement. The basic motto of his poetry movement is “Imagist in the form, socialist in the content“ and the other basic motto is “If you have no fight, you don’t have any poem”.
