MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL Dear Students and Parents, It gives me great pleasure to launch our very first newsletter! This is an initiative of the school to ensure we keep you, our school community, updated on the most current happenings in Seri Jubli International School. Do tune in as we will be providing you monthly issues, all the more so as we journey together through this unprecedented time. We are now into our 3rd month of Online Schooling. I cannot stress enough how grateful I am to every group of our school community -parents, students and teachers- for playing your roles in ensuring this initiative sustains. As we chart forward, the new normal may require a shift of how we view learning spaces – from merely public spaces (in school) to personal spaces (online). Educators and experts have come forth presenting ideas, concepts and direction for education now and even postpandemic. I would like to invite all of us in our school community to work together as we journey towards adapting to the new normal in education. Let’s keep up with the ongoing online schooling platform, which is the first step in charting through this change. As a school, we want to ensure we continue to provide the best education for the students to be empowered through holistic education.

在此，我⾮常荣幸地宣布这是我们学校的第⼀期 ⽉报！这将是校⽅的其中⼀项新项⺫，以确保校 ⽅能为您们更新致理国际学校的最新动态。在⼤ 家共同渡过这段史⽆前例的时期之际，请务必关 注我们接下来为您们所提供的⽉报。
我们已经迈⼊第三个⽉的线上教学课程。我⼗分 感谢家⻓，学⽣及⽼师们在这段期间各⾃付出的 努⼒，以确保这线上教学的课程得以持续下去。
众所周知，现在所需要适应的新常态极可能改变 ⼤家对于学习模式的观念 – 即从公共空间（在学 校）转换⾄个⼈空间（线上）。教育⼯作者和专 家都相继提出了⾯对疫情当下甚⾄是疫情后未来 的教育构想，理念及⽅向。
我恳请⼤家⼀同携⼿渡过这段教育新常态的路程 。让我们继续配合线上课程，以作为这教育骤变 ⾥的⾸项措施。⾝为校⽅的我们将确保我们能继 续以全⼈教育模式，为学⽣提供优良教育。
BACK TO SCHOOL The COVID-19 pandemic has caused massive disruptions to our lives and schools have been closed since March 18th. Fortunately, the MCO has been effective in containing the spread of the virus. Currently, the recovery MCO phase has permitted all activities to resume to a new normal, except those where social distancing is challenging. Schools are one of these and a gradual return has been planned, starting with those sitting for major examinations returning to schools on June 24th.
Is it safe to return to normal schooling now? We understand that some of you may be concerned about whether it is now safe to return to normal schooling. The Malaysian government has actually taken a very conservative approach especially on schools. Based on most up-to-date data and evidence that young children are the least vulnerable to infections by the coronavirus, many governments in the developed world have already begun to exit the lockdown starting with pre-
schoolers, namely day-care centres and kindergartens. And all of these countries still have infection and death rates considerably higher than those in Malaysia. Seri Jubli, with its smaller student population, is most ideally suited to open all classes, as we are able to easily adhere to the limit of the “20 students per class” rule. However, in compliance to the MOEʼs requirements, we are ready to welcome the first batch of examination students back to campus on June 24th. Preparations are in hand to ensure all the SOPs are tested and in place: student entry controls, washing of hands and a complete clean and wipe down of the school. We are excited to have the students return to campus and we hope the rest of the students will return soon to the joys of schooling. Last but not least, thank you all for the extraordinary efforts and cooperation over these few months. It has been quite a journey! Our priorities and focus have always been the well-being of your child. We hope that the teachersʼ care and support throughout this time have helped your child stay well and focused. I believe the partnership forged during this period will enhance our collaborative effort towards our vision of empowering lives through holistic education for 21st century global engagement.

新冠病毒迄今已对我们的⽇常⽣活带来 严重打击，也导致学校⾃3⽉18⽇以来 就持续处于关闭状态。值得庆幸的是， 政府实⾏的⾏动管制令已经有效地遏制 了病毒的传播。在复苏式⾏动管制令期 间，除了较难维持社交距离的活动，⼤ 部分的活动已被允许恢复运作。学校将 也将实⾏分阶段复课，⽽应届考⽣将在6 ⽉24⽇重返校园。

UPCOMING EVENT: PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE ONLINE 致理国际学校每年会举办两次的家⻓⽇。家⻓⽇的 ⽤意，是让⽼师们与家⻓们会⾯探讨孩⼦们的学习 表现和进度，以协助孩⼦们拥有更全⾯性的成⻓及 发展。
2019 PTC @ SJIS Parent-Teacher Conference, 22nd November 2019 Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC) is held twice a year in Seri Jubli. This is when teachers meet parents to discuss their child's performance and progress as well as ways to help them grow and develop holistically.
然⽽，在这学期⽼师们⽆法⼀如既往的与家⻓们⾯ 对⾯交流。尽管如此，我们⼗分庆幸拥有先进的科 技，让我们能够进⾏线上会⾯。因此，校⽅决定于 6⽉19⽇通过Zoom举⾏2020年度第⼀次的线上家 ⻓⽇。对我们⽽⾔，与家⻓们保持联系是⾄关重要 的。 我们期待与您们在线上⻅⾯！
For this term, however, teachers would not be able to meet parents face-to-face as they usually would. Nevertheless, we are thankful for technology that allows us to meet virtually. The first PTC in 2020 will be held online through Zoom on 19th June as we believe it is crucial for us to touch base with the parents and stay connected. We hope to see all of you online soon!
