PAST EVENT

In collaboration with HIPPO English Olympiad, Seri Jubli International School organised the preliminary round of the 2023 HIPPO English Olympiad (Competition) on 15th April 2023. The HIPPO competition focuses on Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking and the Use of English, and is approved by Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia. There are 4 competition rounds: Preliminary ► Semi-finals ► Qualifier ► World Finals in Italy.

On the day of the competition, a total of 87 students signed up, including 30 SJIS students. As the competition was open to students ages 7 to 19, we had participants from many SJKC schools such as Chong Hwa 1, Chong Hwa 2, Chong Hwa 3, Ping Ming, Chiau Min, Layang, Paloh and Chong Eng. We also had secondary school candidates from SJM, STK, SMKCC and Chong Hwa High School.

We would like to thank all the students for participating in the competition! A big congratulations to two of our students, Isabel Jeevika Johnson (Y8) and Tan Yu Xuan (Y7) for qualifying for the semifinals which happened on 20th May. Best of luck to the both of them!
