The e-bulletin presents articles as well as selections of books, albums, photographs and documents as they have been handed down to the actual owners by their creators and by amateurs from past generations.

The physical descriptions, attributions, origins, and printing dates of the books and photographs have been carefully ascertained by collations and through close analysis of comparable works.

When items are for sale, the prices are in Euros, and Paypal is accepted.

Mario Giacomelli, The Man Who Would Go To The Moon With His Photographs “Photography... can be a witness of our passage on earth”, and even of our passage on the Moon.

Mario Giacomelli’s works in photography are a nightmare for accountants and speculators.

Or, it is more correct to say they are an obstacle to the precise and narrow definitions of copyright and editions, as our European bureaucraties try to impose.

Mario signed photos of Africa, did he ever travel to Africa ? Mario signed photos of Ladack near Tibet. Did he ever travel there ?

He is famous for Aerial views of the fields around Senigallia, did he ever got on a plane ?

His gallerist from Milan sent him perfect silver prints from the best photographic laboratory, hoping Mario would sign and number them. Instead, Mario publicly destroyed them. And followed on printing his picturess in his bathroom with his friend, a postman from Senigallia.

His poetical and curious vision had no limit. He meet color photography through a box of soviet color photographic paper brought from Odessa by some sailors of a Russian crew during a stopover in the port of Ancona, near Senigallia. He would come back to color experimentations in 1976, 1984, 1987. All the prints are unique or made in a handful of test prints.

He gave black and white negative to the local Kodak laboratory to have them printed on color paper.

Maybe Mario Giacomelli could just be considered as an artist rather than a photographer, a dangerously regulated profession indeed.

And maybe his pictures should be described not as photographs, but rather as drawings, or just pages from a notebook.
