Delivering the Music You Love During COVID-19
We want to look to the future and share with you how Seraphic Fire is preparing to present live in-person concerts as soon as it is safe and feasible for patrons, artists, and staff. Just like you, we are tired of being cooped up, wearing masks while we do everyday tasks, and being frustrated that all of our favorite activities are still on hold. The team at Seraphic Fire is stoking their creative juices and is ready to deliver in-depth and musically-exciting multimedia presentations for your enjoyment.
ADDRESSING COVID-19 WHILE DELIVERING HIGH IMPACT PERFORMANCES
Seraphic Fire has a 10-member task force composed of musical and medical experts – from virologists, radiologists, to statistical analysts - as well as executives from Seraphic Fire . We are certainly not the only musical group searching for answers about executing safe, live performances, and we take advantage of the massive research available from many other groups . We are delving farther into the variety of opportunities of WHAT WE CAN DO and WHEN - using all of the safety criteria available to us . Equally important, Seraphic Fire has held multiple focus groups to find o ut f rom patrons what types of live performance conditions would make them feel comfortable and how we can best satisfy their thirst for classical music in the meantime .
When we do come together, hopefully in Spring 2020-21, we want our audiences and singers to feel safe, valued, and cared for . Our final plan may feature some interesting new venues – such as outdoor arenas . There may also be new performance tactics such as arranging small ensemble groups . We are still in the research stage, but we promise that the final plan will be safe for all AND focused on delivering exemplary performances for you! Our plan will be presented to the Board in October for approval so watch for an update in November .
Meanwhile, the Seraphic Fire team is creating insightful podcasts on topics such as historical music, contemporary American music, Handel, and Messiah (visit our website and click on BLOG to listen). The podcasts combine extraordinary music with unique insider interviews . We hope you are looking forward to our soon-to-be-released multimedia presentations that include a wide array of performers and music experts . Grab your glass of wine or other beverage of choice because we have stepped up our creative game, and you will be enthralled with the entertainment on these presentations .
Our staff is also coordinating a variety of LIVE PERFORMANCE contingency plans . It takes many hours to address the myriad details of a concert, and even more so during COVID-19 — identifying safe performance venues, safe travel and accommodations for our singers — in order to deliver performances that maintain our high standard of quality and also ensure the comfort of our patrons . The details are challenging, but our staff is working feverishly to make this upcoming season one of our absolute best!
