Let ’s meet Kemar Sterling

We are proud to shine a well-deserved spotlight on Kemar Sterling, who has been a vital part of the Seprod Group for the past 17 years. His journey has been marked by unwavering commitment, continuous learning, and professional excellence, serving as an inspiration to us all.

Climbing the Ladder of Success Kemar began his career with us in 2007 as a Production Worker in the Oil Filling plant at Caribbean Products Company Limited (CPL).

Nineteen year old Kemar saw this job at the time as a temporary means to an end. In reflecting he shared his initial thoughts, “Ah who dem want fi oil, and then I took a minute to think and said to myself I am not working now so I can do this until I get something else.” From those early days, it was clear that he was driven by a passion for growth and a strong work ethic. Kemar constantly applied for vacant posts shared via the HR notice boards.

Over the years, he embraced new responsibilities, honed his skills, and demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities. His ability to adapt, learn, and lead has been instrumental in his steady rise through the ranks. In quick succession, Kemar was promoted to Warehouse Delivery Clerk, trained and worked as a Production Analyst, operated the Industrial Scale as the Scale House Clerk, promoted to senior Production Analyst and then Production Supervisor.

Today, Kemar is one of the Production Shift Managers at CPL, where he leads a team of 20 employees. His journey is a testament to the opportunities available within our organisation for those who are committed to personal and professional development.

Beyond his professional achievements, he was a dedicated team player—both in the office and on the field—representing the company with passion on our Business House Football Team for more than two seasons. His commitment to teamwork and excellence shines just as brightly in sports as it does in his career.

A Commitment to Lifelong Learning

In addition to excelling in his professional roles, Kemar has shown an admirable commitment to lifelong learning. While working full-time, he pursued formal education and successfully earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Banking with a minor in Economics at the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech). Balancing work, studies, and personal life was no easy feat, but his perseverance and discipline enabled him to achieve his academic goals.

Kemar Outside of Work

Kemar grew up in St. Catherine, Jamaica. His childhood was spent between Spanish Town and Portmore, where his work ethic was honed. Kemar learnt the rudiments of life while spending years selling ground provisions and seasonings alongside his mom in the Spanish Town market. This past student of Spanish Town Primary and St. Jago High School highlighted this as a pivotal teaching moment that has truly shaped the person he is today

We are honoured to have Kemar as part of our team and look forward to seeing what the future holds for him. His story is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved with dedication, hard work, and a passion for learning. Please join us in congratulating Kemar on his incredible 17-year journey and wishing him continued success in the years ahead!
