SEMEN INTEREST All bulls in this offering sell 100% possession and we retain 1/3 semen revenue shares. BULL DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY We do not creep feed our calves on summer pasture. With it being extremely dry this year, we did put out a few Smart lic tubs for both the cows and calves. We weaned the bulls this year in two groups. The early born bulls were weaned on August 28 and the younger bulls were weaned on October 5. The bulls have been developed in a 8-10 acre trap pasture to ensure plenty of exercise. We don’t push them real hard, but rather we use good grass hay, some ground wheat hay, corn, full energy extruded beans, and ground alfalfa for a balanced ration. We plan to take all of the bulls home after the sale and continue developing them until the first week of April at no additional charge. We plan to deliver the bulls between April 1 and April 7, free of charge to anyone in state or adjoining states. We can help deliver to further distances at the cost of fuel and mileage at a fair rate. Anyone wanting to take their bulls home on sale day are certainly welcome to do so.

We start this catalog off with one of the very best! Lot 1 was born stout, stayed stout and is stout. His pedigree stems from Shoco Data and Cinch- cattle that are the kind we like. So far every Copenhagen calf born on this place is aggressive and gets up to nurse right away. We’ve had nearly 30 progeny born to date and have never lost one or helped one get going in any way. Lot 1 has lots of power and his maternal brother was highly sought after in last year’s sale at Lot 5. His ratios are 90 at birth, 105 WW and 106 YW. Great Red Angus genetics here!

Lot 2 is a nice bigger framed bull out of the 1001 cow that we bought out of the mature cow sale from Milk Creek. She is an own daughter of Epic 397K. She is bred back AI and is the kind we sure like. This bull is calving ease with good growth. His ratios are 90 at birth and 104 at weaning, nice long made bull that will give maternal strength and add pounds to those steers!

This bull is one we really like! Lot 3 is out of a moderate framed cow- who has given us 4 daughters in the herd. He has a darker complexion, is long spined and moves out well. We are so glad we made the decision to start to AI the cows to Copenhagen 3Y! We love the phenotype and profile of our Copenhagen calves. I like the fact he his attributes are rapid growth and moderate yearling weights. We will want to sample this bull in our AI program. Very good bull!

Here is a full brother to Lot 3. He’s a little lighter colored than his full brother but has that depth and disposition everyone’s looking for. What’s so impressive about Copenhagen sired calves is that they are most vigorous calves that we’ve seen at birth. We all like calves that have that get up and go. There are only 4 Copenhagen sons in this sale. Nice bull again!

Lot 5 is a bull that checks a lot of the boxes. He is out of 908- the top weaning weight bull from 2019 that we raised. His pedigree contains many of the “good ones.” You will appreciate his phenotype and thickness! We have 3 maternal sisters in the herd by the 464 cow. Lot 5’s mother also bred back AI. We could easily start the sale with this guy.

Lot 7 is a good strong made calf. He has a pedigree similar to Lot 6. The Hard Drive and Seneca combination seems to create a long, attractive and functional profile. Give this calf some more time to grow and he could be the best calf in the sale. This stand out calf is out of a bull we raised and that we use as a walking sire. Study Lot 7 close!

Never before has a Cinch by the 6005 cow ever been for sale. This is her last embryo son that will be for sale as she is retired. We have daughters and sons of 6005 that we are using now for numerous reasons, her offspring and grand-offspring have good depth, muscle tone and natural fleshing ability. I don’t care what color of cow you put Lot 9 on your outcome will be good. I’m so confident in this calf that I’ll buy him back no questions asked if you aren’t satisfied. Heather sure hates to see this one go. Don’t overlook him!

Lot 12 is a bull that goes back to the 432 cow, who was always a deep bodied cow that lived to be 14 years old. The Eye of the Tiger 908 calves have been a success. With just a hay and cake winter diet, 908 is in very respectable flesh and is moderate made as he is coming into his third year. Early rapid growth and moderate mature size describes Eye of the Tiger 908. I think that’s what most people want their cattle to do, especially to achieve lower input costs.

This Copenhagen son is out of 803, a nice clean uddered Seneca daughter. She is a full sister to the Lot 1 Grand Gateway bull in last year’s sale. Grand Gateway brought $8250 and we sampled him some AI. We will have calves out of him this month. I like the muscle and hair on Lot 13. I don’t know where you’d find many Copenhagen sons this year, but we have a few to show you and will have more in next year’s sale.

Lot 14 is the only direct Hard Drive son in the sale. He has good performance numbers and was raised by a first calf heifer. The 6005 cow has made a good impact on this operation with her daughters and sons. If I could dream a little, I wished 6005 was still alive for one more flush! I could see this bull doing a nice job on a set of RWF or Hereford cows. Lots of good in this pedigree!

Fort Smith 1416 is a calf I truly love. This Renown son has been an amazing calf from birth to weaning to yearling and has so much to offer. He has lots of length, depth and superior eye appeal! He boasts a 715# weaning weight on terrible droughty pastures and an occasional lick tub. Not only do we have two full brothers to show you, we have two full sisters at home to move forward with! It’s pretty hard to describe this bull to you, so we hope you can come view him and discover his phenotype for yourself. I truly hate to see this one leave the place! The new owner and I will be in touch about his future plans. We will no doubt collect him and use him in our program!

Fort Laramie 1263 is another well made ET son of Renown and 3568. Renown is still making his mark in the Angus breed at the age of nine. 1263 has similar qualities as his brother. He was raised by a 9-year-old recip and still boasted a 662# weaning weight on old grass and a sparse amount of new grass that received less than 3 inches of rain all summer.

Lot 17 is a real power bull that should give you heifer calves that should stay in the replacement pen. We have 7-year-old Angus 1141 daughters and grand daughters in our commercial herd that are fertile, gentle and milk real well. I feel the 1141 sons we have sold in the past have been the kind. Selling as a commercial Angus bull.

Lot 18 is a full brother to lot 17. Presently he comes with just as much size as his brother. I feel his recip mom was a little short on milk given the drought conditions, thus his weaning weight reflects that. I purchased these embryos and cannot get these two full brothers registered yet because their donor dam’s DNA is not on file at AAA. We will be selling them as commercial bulls. Here is an opportunity to take home two full sibs and tighten up that gene pool.

Lot 19 is out of an attractive cow that goes back to one of the very first registered cows that I ever purchased. 175 the great grand dam, 201Z the grand dam and 712 the dam were and are easy fleshing cows. 712 is bred for an early calf and raised a deep bodied bull that was Lot 7 in last year’s sale. Lot 19’s ratios are 91 on birth and 103 on weaning.

Lot 21 is out of a Canadian bred cow I purchased a few years back. This bull has lots of hair, stylish length and strides out nice. This is the youngest calf in the sale. He ratios 106 on weaning. Two years ago 438 raised a real nice Seneca son that was in our 2020 sale and was sold at Lot 5 going to a new customer and now friend from Isabel. Thanks Bill!
