Born in Canada, Aaron Sean Watkin graduated from The National Ballet School of Canada in 1988 winning the prestigious Erik Bruhn Award, awarded to the most promising student in the school. Watkin is experienced in a variety of different styles of dance including Cecchetti,Vaganova, Bournonville, Balanchine and the French and English styles. Watkin enjoyed a full career in dance beginning with leading classical companies including the National Ballet of Canada, the English National Ballet and the Het Nationale Ballet. After 7 years of classical repertoire, he was invited by William Forsythe to become a Principal Dancer with the Ballet Frankfurt. Watkin always admired the works of Mr. Nacho Duato and in 2000 he joined his company, La Compañia Nacional de Danza de Nacho Duato. In June 2002 Watkin was appointed Associate Artistic Director to Víctor Ullate Ballet in Madrid. Watkin was a personal choreographic assistant to Mr. William Forsythe, in charge of setting and rehearsing his ballets on dance companies throughout the world. In 2005 he assisted Mr. David Dawson for his creation of »Reverence« for the Kirov Ballet and Mr. Johan Inger for his creation of »Negro con Flores« for the Cullberg Ballet. Watkin was a guest teacher to many of Europe’s leading dance companies and the Artistic Associate Director of The Loft Dance Studio in Brussels. Watkin was also the Artistic Associate Director of the annual »Dance For Life« AIDS benefit gala at the Cirque Royal Theatre in Brussels. In 2006 Aaron S. Watkin became the Artistic Director of the Semperoper Ballett. In 2007 Aaron S. Watkin created his first full length ballet production »The Sleeping Beauty« followed by »La Bayadère« in 2008 and »Swan Lake« in 2009. This season 2011 / 2012, Watkin will create a new production of »The Nutcracker« together with the Rector of the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden, Prof. Jason Beechey.
Aaron Sean Watkin wurde in Kanada geboren. Als einer der besten Schüler der National Ballet School of Canada wurde er 1988 mit dem renommierten Erik Bruhn Award ausgezeichnet. Er beherrscht unterschiedliche Tanzstile wie Cecchetti, Vaganova,Bournonville, Balanchine sowie unterschiedliche englische und französische Stilarten. Seine Karriere als Tänzer begann er in namhaften Companies wie am National Ballet of Canada, English National Ballet und Het Nationale Ballet. Nach sieben Jahren Tanz in klassischem Repertoire wurde er Erster Solist am Ballett Frankfurt unter William Forsythe. Seine Bewunderung für die Werke Nacho Duatos ließen ihn im Jahr 2000 zu dessen La Compañia Nacional de Danza de Nacho Duato wechseln. 2002 wurde er zum stellvertretenden künstlerischen Leiter des Víctor Ullate Ballet in Madrid ernannt. Als persönlicher choreografischer Assistent William Forsytheswar Aaron S. Watkin verantwortlich für die Einstudierung von dessen Choreografien weltweit. Darüber hinaus assistierte er 2005 David Dawson bei dessen Kreation »Reverence« am Kirov Ballett und Johan Inger für »Negro con Flores« am Cullberg Ballet. Aaron S. Watkins professionelle Erfahrung, sein exzellentes Wissen über das klassische Ballett sowie seine Kenntnisse über zeitgenössische Arbeiten ließen ihn zu einem angesehenen Lehrer führender europäischer Companies avancieren. Er hatte zudem die künstlerische Leitung des Loft Dance Studios in Brüssel inne und leitete als Künstlerischer Co-Direktor die jährlich stattfindende AIDS-Benefizgala »Dance For Life« im Cirque Royal, Brüssel. Seit 2006 ist Aaron S. Watkin Ballettdirektor des Semperoper Ballett. 2007 choreografierte er mit »Dornröschen« sein erstes abendfüllendes Ballett, dem 2008 »La Bayadère« und 2009 »Schwanensee« folgten. Diese Spielzeit 2011/12 wird Aaron S. Watkin gemeinsam mit Prof. Jason Beechey, Rektor der Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden, eine Neuproduktion des »Nussknacker« schaffen.
Adi Luick was born in Stuttgart. After a commercial education and occupational activities, he studied musicology and history of art in Tübingen. During his studies, he was an apprentice in the departments of ballet dramaturgy and press and public relations at the Bavarian State Ballet and the State Opera Unter den Linden in Berlin. After completing his studies, he worked at the Linden Opera in Berlin in the artistic management office, for the ballet dramaturgy and supported tours of the opera to Paris, Madrid and Tokyo. Thereafter, he became assistant to the managing director for ballet and dramaturgy. He joined the Semperoper Dresden in 2000. Adi Luick was first working as a dramaturg for ballet and opera, before he became management assistant to ballet director Vladimir Derevianko. In 2006, he was appointed as Company Manager of the Semperoper Ballett under the artistic direction of Aaron S. Watkin.

Adi Luick wurde in Stuttgart geboren. Nach einer kaufmännischen Ausbildung und Tätigkeit studierteer in Tübingen Musikwissenschaft und Kunstgeschichte. Während des Studiums hospitierte er am Bayerischen Staatsballett sowie an der Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin in den Bereichen Ballettdramaturgie und Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit. Nach Abschluss seines Studiums arbeitete er an der Lindenoper im Künstlerischen Betriebsbüro und in der Ballettdramaturgie und übernahm Gastspielbetreuungen für Paris, Madrid und Tokio. Daraufhin wurde er als Assistent der Ballettbetriebsdirektorin und -dramaturgin engagiert. An die Semperoper Dresden wechselte Adi Luick im Jahr 2000 zunächst als Dramaturg für Ballett und Oper, später war er Management-Assistent des Ballettdirektors Vladimir Derevianko. Seit 2006 ist er Ballettbetriebsdirektor des Semperoper Ballett unter Ballettdirektor Aaron S. Watkin.
