Selwyn House uncorks VINTAGE ’09

By Heather Rochette, Director, PVA and Special Events

More than 130 guests attended Vintage ’09, the Parent Volunteer Association’s annual Black and Gold fundraiser on April 29, 2009 to sample a selection of wines with the help of both professional sommeliers and our own faculty and staff. Everyone had a wonderful time with special guests including Bill Zacharkiw ’82, Montreal Gazette wine columnist, and ladies from Selwyn House faculty and staff dressed as a multitude of Marilyn Monroes.

With Headmaster Hal Hannaford acting as auctioneer, the event raised approximately $15,000, which will go towards the Selwyn House Centennial Endowment Fund, and a portion was given to the Centre de répit Philou, a non-profit organization that offers respite care for families of disabled children up to five years of age.
