Winter What’s On Brochure out now
Our What’s on in Selwyn winter guide is out now and is packed with activities to brighten up the cooler months ahead. Whether you’re after inspiration, entertainment, or family fun, this guide has it all.
Renowned speaker Paul Wood will be delivering a powerful seminar, ‘Winning at Work and Life –Mastering Life’s Demands’ on Friday 13 June at Lincoln Event Centre. It promises to be an energising evening for anyone seeking to navigate life’s challenges with strength and clarity. Then, celebrate the magic of Matariki on 19 June with a free event for all the whānau. Enjoy stunning light displays, captivating kapa haka performances, live music, storytelling, and interactive activities. It’s a chance to reflect and celebrate the Māori New Year with light, culture, and connection.
Tender for Licence to Occupy
Tender is sought for a Licence to Occupy the below land for a term of five years. The land is approximately 1.8 hectares and situated on Homebush Road, Coalgate. The legal description of this land is Pt RES 1557 and a section of unformed legal road.
Tender is for pastoral or arable/grazing activities of the said land. This excludes cattle or pigs. The successful tenderer is responsible for the payment of rates on the land.

Tenders close strictly at 5pm on Thursday 12 June and must be submitted on the appropriate form contained in the tender pack. Submissions made in the incorrect format will not be accepted.

Animal lovers won’t want to miss the Selwyn Pet Expo on 24 August—a fun and furry favourite which showcases pets, products, and demonstrations.

Water Race Closure Hearing and Deliberation
Council has received submissions to the proposed closure of three sections of the Paparua and Malvern water race network: 684 Telegraph Road, 987 Telegraph Road, and Highfield Road.
To hear submitters, a public hearing will be held on Tuesday 27 May, 4–6pm, 2 Norman Kirk Drive, Rolleston, and will be live streamed on the Council’s YouTube channel. Council deliberation will follow at a later date and will be advertised ahead of time.
