The earth Made from fire, air, water and earth – the TERRA porcelain range is effectively an allegorical represen tation of our planet. The finish of the TERRA porcelain series exudes the kind of craftsmanship, in which the onlooker unwittingly finds themselves looking for the charming irregularities that each one-off piece conceals. The deliberately irregular glaze enhances this impression and catches the light in ever-changing ways.
Aus Feuer, Luft, Wasser und Erde hergestellt – etwas poetisch ausgedrückt – ist die Porzellan-Serie TERRA quasi eine sinn bildliche Allegorie unseres Planeten. Die reliefartige, spiralförmige Struktur dieser Form kann man durchaus als kreiselnd interpretieren. Das Finish mutet wie jene »craftsmanship« an, bei der Betrachter unwillkürlich die Unregelmäßig keiten suchen, die hier jedes unikative Werk in sich trägt. Die formbedingt ungleichmäßig aufgetragene Glasur unterstreicht diesen Eindruck und sorgt für stets wechselnde Licht-Reflexe.
