About the photographer Sarah Eick, born in 1974, studied art history, philosophy and applied cultural studies in Münster and initially devoted herself to painting.

She has lived and worked as a photographer in Berlin since 2000.

Her works have been exhibited in museums in Berlin and the USA.

Sarah Eick achieves a great feat that even native Berliners who have seen many photographs of their hometown will still marvel at: her photos undoubtedly depict Berlin motifs, but at the same time they are works of a great, translocal, abstract poetic quality.

The city fascinated her with its colours, energy, history and architecture. There she met and portrayed numerous women - locals and travellers alike. Each photo was captured on 35 mm film, creating an ‘analogue imperfection’ that, in addition to the natural aesthetic, also creates a special closeness to the women photographed.
