TERMINOLOGY

A guide to common terms for Mayfair® Towel & Tissue.

Through Air Drying (TAD)

A premium, 100% virgin fiber towel that is softer and more absorbent than standard-grade paper

1-Ply Made using one layer of paper for an economical towel

2-Ply

Ply-Bond

Emboss

Ply-Bond + Emboss

Made using two layers of paper for a higher rate of absorbency, speed, and capacity. The two layers can be joined using ply-bond or emboss methods or a combination of both.

Layers are pressed together to join

• Most economical

Layers are passed through patterned rollers that cut & shorten cellulose fibers to improve flexibility & design

• Improved softness, thickness, and absorbency

Combining the two methods makes for a stronger connection of layers

• Improves absorbency, strength, and thickness
