DIETER ROTH bok 1959-1961 FOUND MATERIAL ACCUMULATION BOOK One of the rare artist books by Dieter Roth (here: "Diter Rot") in the original forlag edition, box 412, Reykjavik Iceland . The copy is similar to the bok 3a (see MOMA object number 3088.2008, but slightly different in format, proportions, and binding) The found material book, 8.6" in size, 39 leaves, including 2 Reykjavik double leaves, with miniature and distorted texts, punctuation marks and letter work as well as bi-fold out pages and bound with original black metal spiral, the reverse bearing original blue label of Wittenborn Art Books 1018 Madison Ave., New York 21.

Provenance: collection of Robert C. Smith (1926-2018); professor emeritus Sam Fox School of Design at Washington University in St. Louis, renowned draftsman, artist, and fountain designer with several commissioned projects including Cincinnati’s Taft Museum, the St. Louis Zoo, and the MUNY Opera in Forest Park.

Aspen Magazine was published 1965 - 1971, by Roaring Fork Press, Inc., 333 Sixth Avenue, NYC, NY 10014, USA. This very rare arts periodical was to have been issued quarterly, but never to fruition.
