FROM OUR FOUNDERS A Legacy of Love We cannot believe it’s been ten years since we started Selfless Love Foundation.

Our goal to transform the child welfare system was inspired by my adoption. My family changed my life, and in the last decade Selfless Love Foundation has helped to change thousands of lives.

Our dream began with the support of close friends. Now, Selfless Love Foundation serves youth across Florida and Texas and leads a National Network that is impacting policy nationwide. We are so grateful to everyone who has joined us along this journey.

Your dedication has fueled our success.

Together, we are creating a legacy of love. We are helping the most vulnerable children find their forever families. We are investing in youth by providing safe, supportive housing and equipping them with the skills to be independent. We are ensuring the voices of youth are heard and their experiences are respected.

In 2025, Selfless Love Foundation marked a decade of dedication! Ashley and Ed Brown had a dream to give children in foster care a second chance at life. Ten years later, their dream has become a reality.

Selfless Love Foundation has had the honor of impacting thousands of lives, helping children in foster care find their forever families, providing supportive housing and training for youth aging out of the system, and advocating for systemic change.

FAMILY SPOTLIGHT Dwayne Isaacs always wanted to be a dad.

He knew there were kids in foster care who needed a home, and he was ready to offer forever.

Dwayne joined Selfless Love Families in 2023 and jumped headfirst into the process, staying in close contact with his adoption connector, Melissa, participating in support groups, and building a strong support network.

He met 9-year-old Zylen and their bond quickly blossomed. The two connected over Marvel and DC characters, the outdoors, and Dwayne’s dog, Milo.

In July 2025, Dwayne and Zylen wore matching suits and ties for their big day. Surrounded by loved ones, in person and on Zoom, as the adoption became official, Dwayne proudly declared, "I have a son!"

SELFLESS LOVE ACADEMY Selfless Love Academy, formerly Dream Tank, equips young adults impacted by foster care with leadership skills, confidence, and targeted professional development.

Each student completes 150 hours of leadership training, including Dale Carnegie Foundations of Success, speech writing and presentation, financial literacy, and executive coaching to help EXECUTIVE COACHING

strengthen their readiness for adulthood. The program concludes with a graduation celebration and speech.

In 2025, Antonia was named the final Dream Tank winner, receiving $5,000 for her inspirational speech on supporting inmates as they transition out of prison.

The new name, Selfless Love Academy, reflects the depth of training and professional development each youth receives and allows Selfless Love Foundation to replicate the program in other states.

LIFE SKILLS & LEADERSHIP TRAINING Selfless Love Foundation offers virtual and in-person training for youth in Florida and Texas, incorporating nationally recognized curriculums like the FosterClub. These programs empower young adults with essential life, leadership, and self-advocacy skills.

Each year, we give youth in Florida, Texas, and Iowa the opportunity to participate in Dale Carnegie Foundations for Success. In 2025, 42 graduates completed the training, strengthening their confidence, communication, leadership, and interpersonal effectiveness.

SUPPORTIVE HOUSING Selfless Love Foundation takes a hybrid approach to housing, partnering with providers in Florida and Texas to support youth ages 18 to 23. All residents must be enrolled in school or employed.

Our life skills and career readiness training, and cultural awareness and community building events promote personal and professional development to prepare youth for independence.

Thanks to your generosity, we provide campus improvements, welcome baskets, home furnishings, and daily essentials to help youth feel at home.

ADVOCACY Selfless Love Foundation advocates for transformative policy changes and practice improvements to streamline foster care adoptions and positively impact outcomes for transition-aged youth and those aging out of care.

We believe lived experience should drive change. Youth impacted by foster care are at the heart of our advocacy work. Our Advocacy Team, the A-Team, works in partnership with youth, child welfare agencies, and legislators to drive meaningful change for children in care today and for future generations.

ONE VOICE IMPACT Selfless Love Foundation’s youth initiative, One Voice Impact (OVI), empowers young adults to leverage their experiences in foster care to drive change. OVI members are part of a statewide network of youth councils. The network meets annually to set policy priorities, ensuring that the voices of those impacted by foster care help to shape the future of foster care.

FOSTER YOUTH VOICE MONTH Selfless Love Foundation initiated a youth voice movement to elevate the voices of youth impacted by foster care. Each October, we spearhead Foster Youth Voice Month, empowering youth in every state and celebrating youth-led laws and policy improvements.

In 2025, more than 35 states joined us in raising awareness. We are especially grateful to our national partner, Jockey Being Family, for sponsoring our 2025 T-shirt. The hopeful message and image were created

by Henry, a gifted young artist from New York.

NATIONAL NETWORK Our National Network is a coalition of youth with lived experience and child welfare professionals. The group leverages its collective voice to drive policy changes and transform the child welfare system. The Network convenes at a National Think Tank to explore a specific issue and develop actionable plans.

EVENTS THE GALA The Gala was a celebration of all the lives Selfless Love Foundation has impacted in the last 10 years. Heartwarming stories of families and youth highlighted the milestone event and pushed our fundraising to a record amount.

Eloise and John Paul DeJoria were honored with the Heart for Impact Award for their ongoing dedication to transforming the lives of children and youth in foster care. The philanthropic couple has been instrumental in SLF’s growth in Florida and expansion to Texas.

NATIONAL THINK TANK Selfless Love Foundation hosted a National Think Tank on adoption, uniting youth with lived experience in foster care, policymakers, child welfare professionals, and researchers from 30 states. The two-day event in Broomfield, Colorado, focused on developing actionable strategies to improve adoption policy at state and federal levels to best serve children.

Discussions were centered on youth consent in adoption, family recruitment, post-adoption support, and protecting children’s images and information. The topic was inspired by Selfless Love Foundation’s advocacy in Florida, which led to a 2024 law improving youth safety and privacy in adoptions. Lead researchers from Chapin Hall at the University of Chicago will publish a report on the National Think Tank with actionable next steps for each state.

Special thanks to our national partner, Jockey Being Family, for ensuring youth impacted by foster care have the platform and support to help create real change.

ADVOCACY TEAM HONORED Child welfare leaders in Florida applauded the dedication and influence of Selfless Love’s Advocacy Team (A-Team). Our Advocacy Director, James (JR) Minter, received Florida Coalition for Children’s (FCC) Collective Impact Leadership Award, recognizing his dedication to building partnerships and ensuring youth voices remain central in policy change.

The FCC also honored A-Team chair, Knowledge, with the Young Adult Leadership Award. Knowledge has earned a reputation as a purpose-driven leader who brings her lived experience and an unwavering commitment to improving the child welfare system.

Our A-Team played a key role in passing the groundbreaking Florida law removing public access to photos of children in foster care who are available for adoption. JR and the A-Team have strengthened Selfless Love Foundation’s position as a thought-leader and established Florida as a national model for youth-led advocacy.

RALLY IN TALLY Our Advocacy Team attended Rally in Tally in December. They met with Florida lawmakers to discuss policy priorities, including extending educational support services to age 26 for youth impacted by foster care.

The change would give young adults more time to access educational resources and achieve self-sufficiency.

ADOPTION CONNECTION EVENTS Selfless Love Foundation partnered with Family Support Services Suncoast and Families First Network to host Adoption Connection Events in 2025. The informal gatherings are planned around fun activities to allow children in foster care to connect with prospective adoptive parents in low-stress environments.

POST-ADOPTION CELEBRATIONS Selfless Love Foundation joined Family Support Services of Pasco and Pinellas Counties and Safe Children Coalition to honor families that have grown through adoption. The joy was unmistakable as we watched the children bounce, play, and bond with their families.

NATIONAL ADOPTION MONTH Selfless Love Foundation leads National Adoption Month in Florida, partnering with local agencies to celebrate adoption and raise public awareness about the need for adoptive families, particularly for sibling groups and teenagers. Our Selfless Love Families team attended National Adoption Month celebrations in nine regions across the state.
