It's for you, Mom! Celebrating Mother's day with Pre-K
May 8th marked this year's Mother's day in the United States. Since this is also a special day for many mothers globally, our Pre-K students took this opportunity to show their appreciation and came up with the fantastic idea of giving flowers to their beloved mothers!
Since they couldn't grow their flowers at school, this idea provided the perfect chance to be creative and make a paper flower bouquet! The students had been working since before Lebaran break to make bouquets for their moms. They painted sticks with green paint for the stems, decorated paper flowers with glitter glue, and colored a special card to include with the bouquet!

As you can imagine, putting these together definitely kept the Pre-Ks busy!
This activity was a multi-step project that enhanced various essential skills for the toddlers. They had to focus on one task over a prolonged period of time, which developed their attention span. Then, having them work through multiple steps also developed their thinking in sequence and order which is crucial to developing their logic. Additionally, painting, decorating, and coloring builds creativity and strengthen fine motor skills.
