Nisya, formerly class of 2020, is currently studying Secondary Education major at Calvin University. She's an education enthusiast who is passionate about transforming the lives of students.
Her passion for education sparked when she was an 8th grader during a spiritual retreat session. She also was an appointed leader in Sayap Ilmu, a student-led club that works to improve literacy and educational access of underprivileged children in the rural areas of Indonesia.
In 2019, Nisya joined a Sayap Ilmu’s Mission Trip to a village in Flores, Nusa Tenggara Timur. That trip was quite an eye-opener to her and stirred her passion further. And that is where Nisya decided to pursue a career as a teacher.
