Let's Learn About Trash - K3 Classroom Activity

This October, our K3 students learned about trash as part of their Unit of Inquiry: Sharing the Planet. To help students learn this unit, our K3 teachers set up a short field trip to our SPH Trash Center! This center is managed by our General Affairs Team, which is led by Pak Fauzi.

At the center, Pak Fauzi helped students understand that the trash compiled by our community would be delivered to the center and later picked up by the government at another location. Pak Fauzi also shared how to distinguish different types of trash into the correct category and this process encouraged students to be more responsible when dealing with rubbish.

Students were also given time to pick up trash and sort it based on the different categories. With teachers closely observing them, health and safety were of priority during the activity as our students were required to wear gloves throughout the activity.
