We encourage you to use this Guide and support the many businesses listed. Each business has invested in the economic vitality of our area by supporting the Chamber.
Seguin Chamber proudly celebrated 100 years in 2021 as a business organization dedicated to making Seguin the best choice to live, to work, to play and most definitely to prosper. As the Seguin Chamber enters its 105th year of operation, our efforts are still centered around growing the economic prosperity of the city and area. We are proud of our community and especially proud of our people. We welcome you to come see this community pride for yourself.
For businesses and residents, Seguin is the perfect place to call home. With just more than 30,000 residents and more than 12,000 new homes on the horizon, Seguin is dedicated to smart and healthy growth while holding on to its historical roots. We are working hard to preserve our quality of life while we continue to grow our economy. It is a community priority to continue to increase our green spaces and keep the charm and warmth of a downtown Seguin. Downtown is bustling with activity – shopping and festivals alike - to draw in locals and visitors. Seguin
is situated in a prime location for growth, we are in a favorable place for any business to start, relocate, or scale their operation.
Our robust, diversified economy features agribusiness, a steelmaker, a manufacturer of automotive parts, an engine manufacturing facility and other manufacturing operations making roadside mowing equipment and building materials. The manufacturing workforce allows companies to continue to increase production, expand their facilities and hire more employees. We are proud of our continued low unemployment averages and have plentiful water and power for nearly any type of facility operation, and a great labor force for sustainability.
Seguin is small enough to have a friendly feeling with many beautiful amenities. Seguin is a community of excellence boasting great public and private schools with proud traditions. Higher education opportunities are also available with Texas Lutheran University for a four-year degree, Alamo Colleges Northeast Lakeview College for a two-year degree, or Texas State Technical College for a workforce degree or certificate. Still looking for more? With new and improved parks and recreational facilities, and other entertainment venues, Seguin has become a family entertainment destination.
Seguin is big enough to boast a top-rated university and a well-respected hospital. Residents enjoy a range of cultural, recreational, and employment opportunities. Shopping and retail also continue to grow with the increasing population. Retail stores such as Ross, Boot Barn, Marshalls, Harbor Freight have been a great addition to our community – and the end is not in sight with more retail possibilities on the horizon.

Nine-month Leadership program for employees of Chambermember businesses and individuals.
The Chamber monitors issues through Public Affairs and Industrial Relations committees, keeps members informed and advocates for pro-business legislation.

A program of the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce - seeks to prepare, involve and sustain leaders from diverse backgrounds who are committed and competent to address community challenges and improve the quality of life in the Seguin area.
Leadership Seguin is the ideal program for preparing the leaders of tomorrow. During the nine-month program participants get an in-depth view of community issues, develop skills necessary to assume leadership roles, and are exposed to community involvement opportunities.
Leadership Seguin is unlike other programs because it provides participants with the opportunity to meet and discuss issues with key community leaders. Participants study the qualities that make an effective leader, analyze individual leadership roles and develop personal leadership styles and skills. They are then challenged to apply their talents by joining professional associations, civic clubs, public boards and commissions.
Each year, Leadership Seguin undertakes a community service project. Past projects include the installation of murals, picnic tables and shade covers at the Starcke Park Wave Pool, the iron arches welcoming folks to Starcke Park’s West Side, remodeling portions of the Seguin Youth Services and more.
The Leadership Seguin Class of 2026 is proud to support the
A program of the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce –encourages high school students who are entering their junior or senior year and reside in Guadalupe County to apply. During the one-week academy, students will learn essential skills, beliefs, and practices of leadership to prepare them to make a positive impact on the quality of life in their community. The students selected will be presented with in-depth programs to acquaint them with community needs, opportunities, challenges, and resources, and to encourage interaction with community leaders, as well as being given the opportunity to foster opportunities for team work and collaborative problem solving.
We encourage participation from all students; however, we hope to attract students needing a little extra confidence and support to improve their leadership characteristics and confidence and learn more about their communities and ways to make a difference to others. Throughout the one-week academy in the summer, the students are personally challenged by a High-Ropes course, encouraged to agree on a community service project to pursue as a group, and learn how to work with adults and leaders to make things happen in a community.
The SAYLA Class of 2025 made a meaningful impact by supporting TruLight127 Ministries, a local foster home. After identifying that the playground areas did not meet state standards, the students worked together to restructure the space into one larger, safer playground that now meets licensing requirements.
Using proceeds from their summer fundraiser, the students also donated $920 toward an updated chicken coop, supporting the nonprofit’s mission of teaching life skills to children in foster care. Through leadership, teamwork, and service, these students

renovation and enhancement of the Seguin Little League facility at 1121 S. Austin St. This beloved nonprofit is more than a ballpark, it’s a gathering place where children build confidence, teamwork, and lifelong memories. Planned improvements include upgraded dugouts and restrooms, new sports equipment and mobile batting cages, enhanced press box technology, and scholarships for Challenger League participants. These enhancements will create a safer, more inclusive, and welcoming environment for all young athletes, ensuring every child has the opportunity to play, grow, and succeed.

created lasting improvements that will benefit children for years to come.
This program has had tremendous success with students and parents since 2006. Many of the graduates of the program go on to live and work in Seguin and others take leadership positions in the military. Improving the quality of our local leaders naturally improves the quality of life for our community.
Applications become available in January, and the deadline to apply is late March. SAYLA 2026 is scheduled for June 13 - 18, 2026. Check out the program on Facebook at Seguin Area Youth Leadership Academy.

This is the eighth consecutive year TLU has been featured on the “Best Value” rankings. Other notable recognitions include TLU’s acknowledgment as a top 20 regional college for Social Mobility—the fourth year the university has appeared in this category.
“Being a top-rated institution in the social mobility category reflects TLU’s strength in serving our students well and ensuring their path to success, regardless of their economic background,” TLU President Dr. Debbie Cottrell said. “The personal education we offer all our students and the attention we give to their complete college experience mean that our students are supported and prepared for a full range of post-collegiate opportunities. We’re pleased to see that our mission, efforts, and priorities are publicly recognized.”

The original facility also served as a vocational nursing and certified nurses aid training location within the region providing skilled nursing to the region. Some of the original students are still working in more detailed areas of nursing within the region and accredit their success to the nursing programs that provided training.
The successes that the original center garnered led to the expansion of the center in 2015 which added an additional 25,000 square feet to bring a total of 50,000 square feet of training space. The additional space built targeted areas such

The historic 5A campus is home to the Seguin Early College High School thanks to a partnership with St. Philip’s College of the Alamo Colleges. This College for All program that affords students the opportunity to earn college credits up to an associate degree while simultaneously working toward a high school diploma—all free of charge to students and families. A similar Pharmacy Tech program, also through Alamo Colleges, opened for students in fall 2023.
Seguin High School offers more than 200 academic and Career & Technical Education (CTE) classes, resulting in a wide variety of course choices to meet student preferences and needs. Welding, Cosmetology, Agriculture and STEM are a few examples of the CTE pathways available for students.
Seguin ISD proudly opened the newly constructed Seguin High School in August 2017. Naturally, the new high school is a tremendous boost to the secondary academic environment. Modern facilities have elevated Matador Pride to new levels as students are afforded the most current technology, lab space and facility features to meet increasing state educational standards.
Overall, Matadors excel in an array of co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities, from Destination Imagination teams to competitive athletics, plus award-winning academic-based technical, JROTC and fine arts programs.
A.J. Briesemeister and Jim Barnes middle schools serve the district’s sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. Technology is deeply rooted into the strong core course curriculum. Advanced math prepares students for high school credit, while hands-on lab work and computer-assisted simulations help students with their science assignments.
Electives and extracurricular opportunities allow middle schoolers to find niches, develop talents and sharpen skills in athletics, vocal or instrumental music, art, theater arts and

foreign language. Leadership is nurtured through student government, PALS peer tutoring and honor societies. Students earn academic recognition through the Duke University Talent Identification Program, UIL and Destination Imagination.
Sixth graders participate in an overnight trip to H-E-B Adventure Camp in Leakey where they perform science experiments, sharpen outdoor recreation skills and build lasting relationships.
Briesemeister Middle School is currently under renovation thanks to voters in the 2019 bond election with a scheduled completion of spring 2023. Barnes Middle School will receive similar campus improvements following the passage of the 2022 bond program.
The seven Seguin ISD elementary schools provide a foundation for the well-rounded curriculum and instructional programs found district-wide. Children benefit from a balanced approach to reading instruction, from literary skills reinforced in computer labs and the Accelerated Reader program. Math concepts are visualized through use of manipulatives and labs boost science lessons.
Programs such as LiiNK, AVID, two-way dual language and fine arts have been initiated at the elementary level in recent years and have proven popular with students while meeting their educational needs.
Elementary students develop skills in iMac computer labs and use mobile labs in class. Keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheet, database, robotics, telecommunications and multimedia presentation instruction help build strong tech foundations. Students have access to peripherals such as iPods and scanners.
Campus-based extracurriculars include special interest clubs such as Destination Imagination teams that have won at the global level, student council and performing choir.
Seguin ISD’s youngest students embark upon their public school journey in the halls of Ball Early Childhood Center. Three and 4-year-olds benefit from the rich, nurturing atmosphere where teachers focus on language and early literacy development. The Ball staff offers students the opportunity to interact in an exciting language and tactile environment.

St. James Catholic School students receive an exemplary education in a Christ-centered environment, challenged by dynamic core curriculum plus fine arts, athletics and technology. Yet another reason St. James is the special place that it is lies in the school’s motto “Keeping God in Everything We Do.” While living out that motto, St. James faculty, staff, students, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends form a diverse “St. James Family” that is visible and involved in the vibrant Seguin community.
You’ll find St. James students at local nursing homes visiting residents, singing Christmas carols and assisting with the Mass celebration. Students gather food for Seguin’s Christian Cupboard weekly, and even grow fresh produce for the local charity in Garden Club. The Baby Shower for Baby Jesus is a favorite project: Students bring diapers, wipes, and other baby items to hold a schoolwide baby shower benefitting the South Texas Pregnancy Center in Seguin.
Patriotism is instilled and encouraged through involvement in an annual community Veteran’s Day program that attracts hundreds while honoring veterans from every branch of our military. In middle school English classes, students learn essay writing while exploring patriotic themes through participation in the Patriot’s Pen writing contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Seguin loves a festival, and especially parades! St. James students decorate one of many Christmas trees displayed around Seguin’s Central Park. National Elementary Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society and Student Council members ring bells for the Salvation Army at Walmart every year, but

add a special touch by singing Christmas carols. Members of St. James’ 4-H Club participate in traditional agricultural and homemaking activities, while another very active group competes in 4-H Robotics. Whether it is Seguin’s Biggest Small-Town Fourth of July Parade in Texas, the Guadalupe County Fair Parade or the nighttime Holiday Stroll, if there’s a parade in Seguin, St. James kids are in it!
The enriched extra-curricular experiences students receive through these many community activities, exemplary classroom instruction from St. James’ highly qualified teachers, and the opportunity to help children grow in their faith provides for a whole-child development program worth investing in!
St. James Catholic School is fully accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Agency in conjunction with the Texas Education Agency. All 2K through 8th grade teachers hold university degrees and are certified by the Texas Education Agency.

Since 1994, the Seguin Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) has worked to promote Seguin as the premier destination for business looking to expand or relocate. Voter created, the SEDC is funded through a quarter-cent sales tax that is primarily intended for manufacturing and industrial development.
It is the mission of the Seguin Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) to strengthen and grow the city of Seguin’s economic base and increase the standard of living for all its citizens by providing development support and resources for business attraction, retention and expansion with the ultimate goal of creating primary jobs and capital investments. This mission includes the promotion of workforce enhancement and other business development initiatives that provide economic diversification and stabilization.
Voter created in 1994, the SEDC was established to help create economic opportunities in the community by promoting Seguin as the premiere destination for businesses looking to expand or relocate.
The SEDC operates as a Type A Economic Development Corporation under the laws of the State of Texas with a fivemember Board of Directors appointed by the Seguin City Council. As a Type A EDC, the SEDC is primarily allowed to fund manufacturing and industrial development projects. Projects eligible for funding may include land, buildings, equipment, facilities expenditures, targeted infrastructure and improvements. The SEDC’s primary revenue source is derived from a 1/4th cent of sales tax collected within the City of Seguin Chapters 501, 502 and 504 of the Texas Local Government Code stipulate how the SEDC’s Type A sales tax proceeds may be expended. Typically, SEDC funding is expended on projects that result in the creation or retention of primary jobs. A primary job is one at a company that exports most of its products or services to markets outside the local regions, infusing new dollars into the local economy. Primary jobs are further limited to specific industry sectors including, but not limited to, manufacturing; transportation and warehousing; information technology and scientific research and development. In addition, the SEDC can fund certain infrastructure improvement projects that promote or develop new or expanded business development.
The SEDC Board of Directors and the Seguin City Council are the governing bodies that have the authority to grant incentives to new and existing businesses in Seguin. Once the incentives are established, State Law requires that the SEDC enter into a written performance agreement with the business enterprise that is to be funded. This written agreement, at a minimum, must contain a schedule of additional payroll or jobs to be created or retained; the capital investment to be made by the business enterprise; and the terms for repayment of the SEDC’s investment if the business fails to meet the performance requirement specified in the agreement.
In addition to its focus on primary job recruitment and retention, the SEDC focuses on marketing and promotional efforts that help encourage additional residential housing growth,

attraction of national retailers, and small business development. The City of Seguin and Seguin Economic Development Corporation leadership continue to prioritize real opportunities in Seguin’s economic development.
Throughout its 27 years of existence, the SEDC has worked diligently to fulfill its commitment in promoting economic development within the City of Seguin. The strong economic condition that our community, region and state have seen over the past decade has set the tone for future growth of primary industries, housing and retail in the City of Seguin.
Going forward, the SEDC and the City of Seguin will continue to promote economic development through marketing Seguin as a premier destination for investment across all industry sectors.

Seguin is what you might call real America, or real Texas. It is small town charm with big city amenities. There is something to do every weekend and no shortage of one of a kind treasures and landmarks to explore. Full of authentic experiences and that famous Texas hospitality, Seguin welcomes and offers something for everyone. We are a community that supports each other in times of need and we are determined to overcome any obstacle.
That determination and spirit has been in Seguin since its founding in 1838. Dating back to the days of the Republic of Texas, Seguin was founded by a group of Texas Rangers determined to settle the “wild west.” Beneath the live oak trees along Walnut Branch, the Rangers would lay out the plans for Seguin.
The City of Seguin was named after Col. Juan N. Seguin, a hero of the Texas Revolutionary war and a dedicated public servant. Col. Seguin visited the town, and paraded in uniform on horseback, to accept his honor. An equestrian statue in the town square now proudly portrays Juan Seguin on that visit.
Seguin’s history and heritage can still be seen today in the preserved historic downtown commercial district and the unique blend of Queen Ann mansions and charming historic bungalows. This history and preservation of our community is what provides an authentic find for visitors and locals alike, it’s what makes Seguin “real.”
In the 19th century, this little town was a center of experimentation with using the recently invented “limecrete.” Invented by Dr. Parks of Seguin, this inexpensive and easy to use local material was widely used for houses, churches, and public buildings. Called The Mother of Concrete Cities, Seguin once may have had the greatest concentration of concrete structures in the U.S., surpassed in total number by only a few big cities back East. An outstanding example of this architecture is Sebastopol House
Historic Site, a Greek Revival mansion built in 1856 by skilled slaves. Now a museum, Sebastopol is full of history and mystery and offers free guided tours through this amazing structure.
Throughout the 19th century, thousands of German immigrants arrived, along with some folks from other European countries. They left a lasting mark on the town, including most conspicuously, Texas Lutheran University. TLU is a highly rated liberal arts college with 1,500 students on a handsome campus.
For almost a century, the town’s prosperity depended on the surrounding rich farms and pasturelands. An oil boom started just as the country was entering the Depression, when the Darst Creek Field came in east of town. The oil brought jobs — and tax money to match federal funding for many make-work projects.
The legacy of parks and public facilities from that period is still enjoyed today from a recently restored County Courthouse to the largest park in Seguin.
Today Seguin boasts a remarkably cosmopolitan cultural scene. See it in one of our local parades where cowboys ride horseback behind bobbing low-riders; uniformed marching bands strut, gaudy floats carry mariachis in spangled costumes and beauty queens still wave to crowds along the sidewalks.
Or go out for an evening: The audience for the local symphony fills an auditorium one week; the crowd watching the rodeo packs an arena the next; local folkloric dancers perform on the college campus; or see a live drama or concert at the local historic theatre.
This is football country, of course, and Friday night is game night. But baseball upholds a proud tradition, too. Smokey Joe Williams was born here, and went on to become, by some accounts, the finest pitcher in the Negro Leagues; he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. The Chicago White Sox held spring training here in the early 1920s; a semi-pro team still plays where they practiced. And high school, university, and community leagues offer competitions in more than a dozen different sports. A sprawling public park has ample room for a golf course and numerous ball fields, courts, pavilions and picnic tables stretch for a mile along the beautiful Guadalupe River.

Notable Architecture
Note how the limestone of the Art Moderne style City Hall and Courthouse recalls the city’s earlier glory of concrete structures. In addition, be sure to see:
− Starcke Furniture, family owned for more than 100 years, occupying a building by Atlee B. Ayers.
− An 1896 bank by J. Riely Gordon, the master of Texas courthouses.
− The Park Plaza Hotel, by Leo M.J. Dielmann, “the most remarkable” of its period.

20th Century brick-fronted buildings and architecture line the streets of Seguin’s historic downtown. Wander around window shopping our locally owned boutiques, antiques, and specialty stores. Have drinks on the rooftop of the historic Aumont or grab a beer and pizza at Seguin Brewing Company. A visit to downtown Seguin includes exploring museums, antique shops, retailers, cafes, saloons, and live music venues.
Be captivated by a restored 1930s fountain with dancing waters and changing multicolored lights. A bronze statue of Juan Seguin by Eric Christianson and granite historical markers ornament the square. A bandstand evokes days of old with performances of symphonies, Sousa marches, Mariachi’s and romantic serenades.
At the corner of Austin and Court Street, grab a photo-op at the Texas-sized Pecan on the Courthouse grounds. The “pecancrete” icon honors a major industry in Seguin. Crops of up to 3 million pounds make Guadalupe County one of the nation’s leading producers. Nearby, a Veterans Memorial recognizes men and women who proudly served in the armed forces.
Trace the stagecoach route from its overnight stop at the Magnolia Hotel through the town square on East Donegan Street past a panoramic mural by Brent McCarthy that recreates the landmarks along the way. Continue on between the fieldstone walls of the Walnut Springs Memorial Rose Garden, site of the annual Moonlight & Roses event.

The arts community in Seguin is a vibrant one – from theater to symphony to visual art and music – art lovers will find something they enjoy. Arts are important enough to the city, that in 2010, the City of Seguin appointed an Arts Commission to promote the arts and artists in the community.

Lake Seguin Paddling Trail
Trail Length: ~4 miles
Float Times: ~1 - 3 hours (depending on water level, flow rate and wind speed)
This paddling trail was designed for beginning or novice paddlers, with no shuttle or portage necessary.
Because the river is dammed at Starcke Park, the river has a slow current and can be easily paddled upstream to the bridge at S.H. 46 and back for the 4-mile trail. Heavy rains upstream or in the vicinity can create dangerous flooding, and paddlers are advised to not use the trail during these times, as well as to stay away from the dam. Flow information is available to paddlers on the web at: www.gbra.org/conditions/data.aspx.
This trail was made possible through a partnership between Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the City of Seguin and the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority.
For more information please see the Paddling Events calendar at www.tpwd.state.tx.us/calendar/paddlingtrails
Juan Seguin Burial Site
789 S. Saunders • (830) 401-2480
Juan Nepomuceno Seguin was born on October 27, 1806. He was a Texas Patriot Statesman for whom the City of Seguin was named. Walnut Springs citizens voted to rename this community in Seguin’s honor on Feb. 25, 1838. He died on Aug. 27, 1890, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. His remains were returned to Seguin in September 1974. He was reinterred with special honors on July 4, 1976, by the City of Seguin and Seguin Bicentennial Commission.
Manuel C. Castilla Park
2261 N. Guadalupe St. • (830) 379-3212
Named in honor of Manuel C. Castilla, one of Seguin’s first Hispanic City Council members, the park recognizes a local veteran and American G.I. Forum member known for his service and dedication to the community. The original 0.25-acre pocket park, located along North Guadalupe Street and West Martindale Street, was dedicated in 1993 and renovated in 1996. In 2002, additional land on the west side of North Guadalupe Street was dedicated to the City of Seguin, expanding the park into a larger community green space that continues to serve residents today.
Max Starcke Park
1115 S. Austin St. • (830) 401-2480
A 227-acre park located along the scenic Guadalupe River was a pecan orchard prior to the park’s dedication in 1938. It offers a variety of recreational activities that include a regulation 18-hole golf course, natural fishing area, paddling trails, walking trail, tennis, disc golf, basketball and volleyball courts. The local Little League organization hosts baseball and softball fields on the east side of the park. Reservations for covered pavilions as well as some picnic areas are available online at HYPERLINK “http://www.seguintexas.gov”www.seguintexas.gov. Select “Departments” from the top ribbon then click on “Parks & Recreation” to navigate to the correct page.
Disc Golf: Located at Starcke Park East near the playscape, the 18-basket course is one of the final park enhancement projects funded by the 2013 voter-approved bonds that also paid for our new library and Park West. The brightly colored main sign with course map is located on the restrooms next to the playscape.
Fishing and Paddling Trails: The Guadalupe River along Starcke Park provides excellent fishing opportunities, and supports several species of catfish, sunfish, and largemouth and Guadalupe bass. Small lures such as jigs, plastic worms, and lightline are recommended. Paddling enthusiasts will find trails where they can enjoy canoeing the beautiful Guadalupe River.
Saffold Dam: Named for William Saffold, who owned land in Seguin in the mid-1800s, Saffold Dam is typical of many mill dams built during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Originally a natural rock outcropping, the dam was first improved by Henry Troell in the late 1800s when he added rock to the dam to raise the water level to power a cotton gin. The City of Seguin bought Troell’s property in 1907 to further develop the river’s hydroelectricity, and subsequent improvements have led to the establishment of a hydroelectric plant on the dam’s south side.
Seguin Electric Plant (Hydro Plant): This is a tribute to those far-seeing loyal citizens of our community and their leader F.C. Weinert, Chairman of the first Citizens Committee and first Board of Trustees, in acquiring and developing these utilities.
Seguin Wave Pool: Opening in late May until mid-August, the Wave Pool is a family friendly facility. Ride the freshwater surf or play in the splash pool under a mushroom fountain. The pool water is chemically treated water and compliant with Texas Public Pool Code standards. Contact the Parks and Recreation Department Office at (830) 401-2480 for questions on hours and days.
Wildlife and Ecology: The Guadalupe River in the vicinity of Starcke Park including the area adjacent State Highway 46 is a slow moving river with scenic vegetation and great birdwatching and angling opportunities. Paddlers can enjoy the shade of cypress, pecans, green ash, sycamores, and other large riparian trees that support a variety of songbirds, hawks, squirrels, raccoons, and other wildlife. Max Starcke Park Golf Course
650 River Dr. West • (830) 401-2490
*The course is being remodeled and is scheduled to re-open October 2025.
Step back in time and enjoy a few hours at Starcke Park Golf Course. Carved out of a riverside pecan grove, this 18 hole par 71 golf course is one of the last “Parks” style golf courses in Central Texas. Let the slow-flowing Guadalupe River take you back to a simpler time when golf courses were easier to play. Our wide-open layout allows for the occasional wayward shot and the ample, gently sloped fairways offer easy approach shots. Elevated greens and shallow bunkers offer just enough challenge to keep things interesting. Few courses offer a shorter or more enjoyable walk and whether you’re walking or riding there’s always a towering pecan tree around to offer some refreshing shade.
Our layout, conditions, and staff makes playing Starcke Park Golf Course an enjoyable experience.
Park West
601 North Vaughan Avenue • (830) 401-2480
Park West offers everything from a skate park to a splash pad. Come enjoy all the great amenities. The 47-acre community park includes athletic fields, a skatepark, playscape, basketball court, splashpad, group pavilion, picnic shelters, and nature trails.
Michael Thomas Raetzsch Skatepark: MTR Skatepark includes many features for skaters whom are amateur or advanced. It’s the perfect place for you to come and test your skills at any level.
BMX Pump Track: The track includes a start hill to roll into the course. There’s a beginner and intermediate dirt jump line with rollers and tables that lead into a berm. The pump track is designed so that you can “pump” through the track without pedaling.
Seguin-Saegert Pickleball Complex
418 W. Mountain St. • (830) 401-2480
Seguin-Saegert Pickleball Complex is more than one (1) acre of land purchased by the City of Seguin from Seguin Independent
School District. The Pickleball Complex has nine (9) tournament ready courts with LED lighting and is open daily until 10pm. Courts are available on a first come first served basis.
Walnut Springs Park and Walking Trail
317 W. Court St. • (830) 401-2475 for reservations.
This park opened for public use in the spring of 2011 after voters approved a $3 million dollar bond package in 2006 to create the park along the Walnut Branch Creek in Seguin. The Lower Colorado River Authority was a major donor to the project, providing funds for the pedestrian bridge that spans the creek.
The new park includes walkways, pedestrian bridges, landscaping, lighting and seating along the spring-fed Walnut Branch Creek. Remnants of a 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)-era park project still remain which were designed by R.H.H. Hugman, designer of the original River Walk in San Antonio.
The park includes a 2.3-mile walking trail along the Walnut Branch funded by the US Army Corp of Engineers and the Texas Department of Transportation. The trail begins at Hwy 78, running along the creek until Convent Street. Completed in June 2023, a new connection, the first under street level connection in Seguin, connects the Walnut Springs Park walking trail to Max Stracke Park East.
A project for Walnut Springs Park funded by Help Seguin Shine donations promotes the city as a bird sanctuary – with seven bird sculptures made of wood and metal decorating the walkways through the park. “By strengthening Seguin as a bird sanctuary, those interested in birds and having art in the parks will enjoy the sculptures. The birds will be an attraction for children and will add to their education and appreciation for wildlife.”
Enjoy a self guided River Heritage Tour, via kiosks, supported by GBRA, which highlights Seguin as one of the towns along the river settled by the first pioneers in Texas.

Seguin is strategically located in South Central Texas along the main Texas arteries Interstate 10 and Highway 90 as a supreme launching point or staging area to:
• San Antonio - 34 miles to the west
• Austin - 50 miles to the north
• Corpus Christi - 145 miles to the south
• Houston - 160 miles to the east
• Dallas - 242 miles to the northeast
The ports of Houston and Corpus Christi are nearly equal distance from Seguin.
Growth for Seguin has been positively impacted by the completion of State Highway 130. This toll corridor parallels Interstate 35 from Georgetown, north of Austin, to Seguin, bisecting Interstate 10 approximately five miles east of downtown. The highway was designed to route commercial traffic through town and send a revived influx of domestic traffic through Seguin as well.
Highway and Travel Highlights
• SH 130 is an alternative to I-35 congestion. The toll road between San Antonio and Austin hosts an 85 MPH speed limit, the fastest in the country. Central Texas’ main artery for generations, I-35 is more congested between Austin and San Antonio than at any other point on its entire length from Mexico to Canada.
• Improved mobility and choices for Central Texas. In addition to providing relief to I-35, SH 130 Segments 5 & 6 provide new mobility options for the region, making it easier for Central Texans to get around and travel for jobs, education & recreation.
