Dear Friends and Family,

Foremost, I would like to welcome you all to the incredible launching and cultural event meticulously organized by the ingenuous youths and young adults of Umuaka. I substantially want to heartily welcome our special guests, our Chairman, Chief Launcher, and those who came out of state to witness what the youths and young adults of Umuaka are capable of doing and I am very pleased that you accepted our invitation and decided to join us. My name is Chinedu Okoro. I am a true, proud Umuokwaranwaneri, Isiozi-Akah son, in Umuaka, Imo-State, Nigeria. I am the President of this great association, Sons and Daughters of the Umuaka Tri-State Branch, Inc.

OVERVIEW OF ASSOCIATION Sons and Daughters of Umuaka Union Tri-State Branch U.S.A. is a group of sons and daughters of Umuaka (Umu Umuaka) in the Tri-State Area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut). We, the youths and young adults of Umuaka, decided that it was time for us to develop a fundamental sense of unity among ourselves and to preserve our culture and heritage. This association is dedicated to doing charitable work both in the United States and Umuaka. Prominent members of this association are true sons and daughters of our motherland, Umuaka, either from their paternal or maternal side, Umuada Umuaka. Sons & Daughters of Umuaka (SDU) is a cultural, charitable, non--profit, non-governmental organization registered with the New Jersey Secretary of State and charitable department! The true purpose of this non-profit association is to foster unity among ourselves, share resources, promote the values of culture and community, and promote economic, social, and cultural advancement; also to properly promote mutual respect and trust in our local community.

1. Uba 2. Isiozi 3. Amaiyi 4. Ugbele 5. Ibele 6. Achara 7. Amakor 8. Umuele 9. Obinwanne 10. Obeakpu.

OUR OBJECTIVES The objectives of this Union are to: 1. Fostering unity among ourselves, 2. Sharing resources and promoting the values of culture and community 3. Promoting economic, social, and cultural advancement; also promoting mutual respect and trust in our community

OUR MISSION

We, the youths and young adults of Umuaka, eagerly follow and respect our motto: IDI N’OTU NA- EWETA IKE, which means UNITY BRINGS STRENGTH. As youths and young adults of Umuaka, we are morally obligated to keep our unique culture alive and genuinely moving.

There’s undoubtedly going to be a time that our parents will be no more, and it’s our responsibility as noble sons and daughters of Umuaka, our motherland, to take over and continue this movement. This movement has set an example to other youths and young adults in various communities to establish a sense of community within themselves and to start prospering together. WE REPRESENT THE FUTURE!

I would like to express sincere gratitude to the President of Umuaka Development Union (UDU), Honorable Tony Onyemepu, for embracing, nurturing, and administering the Umuaka community in the Tri-State together. The Umuaka community in the Tri-State Area remains the first community to form out of the Umuaka National Union, USA. We continue to strive and develop charismatic leadership and nevertheless remain the strongest and loving community in the continuous Tri-State area. None of this would have happened without strong leadership from previous president emeriti, Late Eng. Vitals Onyema, President Emeritus of Umuaka National Union, Chief Mike Okey Amuize, the first president of Umuaka Development Union Tri-State Branch, followed by Hon. John Onyema, and Sir. Chidi Durugo. These prestigious men have kept this organization strong and moving!

UMUAKA WOMEN ASSOCIATION! I would also like to show gratitude to one of the strongest women associations in the Tri-State area, Umuaka Women Association, UWA! All praises go to the President of Umuaka Women Association Tri-State Branch, Att. Lolo Chinyere Amuzie, for properly directing the lovely women of Umuaka and continuing eagerly to progressively develop a strong union.

These noble women came together with their executives and outstanding members to form a sense of unity among themselves!
