GOLDEN JUBILEE OF Sir Godwin Ibe And Lady Angelina Chinyere Nwogu FROM AMUMARA EZINIHITTE, MBAISE, IMO STATE, NIGERIA 9TH SEPTEMBER, 2022 AT BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH 610 CLINTON AVENUE, NEWARK, NEW JERSEY 07108

SHORT INTRODUCTION Sir and Lady Nwogu got married on the 27th of December, 1970, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Amumara Ezinihtte, Mbaise Imo State, Nigeria.

They are blessed with 9 children – four men and 5 women. But, they lost their second daughter – Chioma Vivian Nwogu on March 7, 1997, a few months after passing out of her Youths Service – she was the most brilliant and sociable child of the family. May her gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace, Amen.

Sir & Lady Nwogu have 20 grandchildren. Of special interest is that they have sponsored 90 couples in marriage and 28 in Baptism. Daddy and Mummy Nwogu set a record of meeting with all their sponsored children together once in three years, where the wives report how happy or unhappy they have been and the husbands correspondingly explain and respond to any allegations levied against them one by one. This habit has created a very good relationship in every family.

Neither the husbands nor their wives would like to be negatively exposed in the larger family.

We regret to announce the loss of seven of our sponsored children. May their souls and the souls of the faithful departed, rest in perfect peace Amen!

In 1975 Pope John Paul II awarded daddy and mummy Nwogu a Papal Gold Medal – as an exemplary Christian family and for sponsoring and promoting ideal Christian marriages in Nigeria through personal examples, marriage instructions and as counsellors and publishers. No doubt their efforts have saved many marriages in Nigeria and beyond for daddy and mummy have been steadfast in this apostolate wherever daddy

was transferred to: from Warri to Lagos, Lagos to Umuahia, to Kaduna, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Mbaise and Amumara – their home town.

This apostolate is extended to the U.K. and the U.S. in a low scale.

Sir Nwogu was awarded the Noble of the Church – Our Lady of Victory Amumara, his home town by late Bishop Chikwe, Bishop of Ahiara Diocese – 1989 for his humble unassuming spiritual and material contributions towards the growth of the domestic and home church.

CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL INVOLVEMENTS Daddy Nwogu Since 1987 till date – Daddy Nwogu was introduced to the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in 1975 by Mummy Nwogu, the best thing that ever happened to daddy. He grew up and was developed in the Holy Spirit in Kaduna – Might of God Community, Kaduna, the Mother and Umbrella of Catholic Charismatics in Northern Nigerian.

Daddy Nwogu was the third coordinator of this group after Br. Charles Ijeoma. Daddy developed the Healing Ministry from 1975 – 1980. He was acting coordinator 1978 – 1980.

Sir Nwogu was the Archdiocesan Chairman of Kaduna Archdiocese 1978 – 1980, under him the CCRN expanded in the North.

•

Coordinator Christ Our Joy Community, St. Leo’s Parish Ikeja, Lagos Nigeria 1981 – 1983; 2004 – 2007, within this era massive evangelization gave birth to CCR in almost all the churches in the zone.

Mummy Nwogu Mummy Nwogu has been a very strong member and leader of the Teaching Ministry of the CCRN. She was the leader of the Sisters’ Wing of the CCR in St. Jude’s Parish, Warri Nigeria, the Founding President – Christ our Joy, St. Leo’s, Ikeja, Lagos.

Mummy was the chairperson of the Christian Mothers Organization in both St. Jude’s Effurun and Seat of Wisdom P.T.I.

While leading the CMO in the Mother of Our Redeemer Catholic Church, Warri, she charismatized the Christian Mothers Organization. Many Charismatics joined the C.M.O. and vise versa, the result was more progress in the church, cooperation and peace in the church.

Mummy has been a freelance speaker in Charismatic and church fora .

FROM THE CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN 

Grandpa IS A VERY KIND MAN AND CRACKS JOKES WITH US OFTEN. He encourages us to be good children of God, obeying our parents, not joining bad companies. He gives us prizes for doing well in school and helping our parents at home.



Grandpa is a very patient man. He is tolerant. He talks with wisdom, and applies wisdom in all he says and does. He talks in parables. He hardly hurts anybody and those who come close to him do not wish to part from him.



We fear provoking him or going against his advice because every disobedience has its own consequence directly or indirectly.



We enjoy daddy or mummy’s prayers because God always hears their requests promptly.



Mummy Nwogu – Ezinne Nwere Ugwu – (awarded to her by the CWO, Our Lady of Victories Amumara Ezinihitte, for her ever supportive role financially, morally and otherwise.



Daddy and Mummy Nwogu are worthy of emulation, no wonder why every couple pressed to be sponsored by them in marriages. Daddy and Mummy are a perfect match – whatever Daddy lacks Mummy has and they have in common, fear of God, prayerfulness, serious commitments in their ministries.



Mummy and Daddy are very generous both to us their kids, relations and church families. We are happy and blessed to have them as our parents and grand parents and thank God for giving us the opportunity to celebrate them alive. Please God we shall celebrate them much more in future.



Mummy is a perfectionist and has zero-tolerance for dishonesty, carelessness, laziness, and indecency. She does not pad issues but says it as it is – no wonder why she has “very many admirers”. Mummy is very sympathetic and generous – a molder of the young ones. We very much bore her with our problems and she must solve them no matter how often we come disturbing her.



Daddy tells us of how cooperative and respectful she has been and that she is the best wife ever.

Thus we, her daughters, are doing our best to beat her records.



Indeed, Mummy and Daddy are very ideal parents worthy of emulation. They are a perfect match. Whatever Daddy lacks, Mummy has and vise versa while they have in common – The Fear of God, love of prayers, serious commitments to their various ministries and societies, upbringing of children including grand kids.



We pray God to keep prolonging their lives and to give us the grace to emulate and even surpass their track records.



May God keep blessing them now and in the far future – Amen.
