I Am a Learner empowers students to build key character skills, enabling them to become strong and motivated learners. Students explore character-building themes through videos, podcasts, discussion scenarios, and journal prompts. Themes include empathy, accountability, gratitude, persistence, courage, and more. These scaffolded, multimodal activities help students develop healthy self-esteem and positive emotions to build strong relationships.
Best Practices Flexible Activities: Students can complete each activity as a whole class, with partners, or independently. Utilize student work to facilitate rich class discussions on each theme. Reinforce Skills: Refer to key vocabulary and skills throughout the year to help students apply each theme to their lives beyond the classroom. Cross-curricular Activities: Each lesson provides opportunities for students to problem solve, read, write, and so much more.
