Studies show that polyphenols protect skin with its ability to inhibit oxidization1 of cell membranes offering protection from free radical development. The penetration2 of polyphenols through the epidermis has been proven. Its ability to decrease inflammation has been well documented showing that the anti-inflammatory3 effects of polyphenols are twice as effective as Acetylsalicylic Acid. Further, polyphenols have an astringent4 action that draws out toxic matter and impurities.
