In the 11 a.m. service, we’ll celebrate the Baptisms of Carson and Casey Snipes.

We will also celebrate our second All Together worship service at 4 p.m.

We had a fun (and filling) afternoon last Sunday during our annual Fall Preview Fellowship.

This year was particularly special because of the added Prayer Walk.

WELCOME GUEST PREACHER, DR. PAUL BAXLEY As part of World Communion Day on Sunday, October 6, we welcome as our guest preacher Dr. Paul Baxley, the new Executive Coordinator of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. In addition to preaching at 11 a.m., Dr. Baxley will share about the ministry and mission of CBF during a special Sunday School session in the Fellowship Hall. We encourage all adult Sunday school classes to consider coming; everyone is welcome.

CBF is one of our global mission partners and we enthusiastically welcome Paul to Second-Ponce.

CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERING AT GARDEN HILLS ELEMENTARY

EVERYBODY WINS Weekdays during your lunch hour | Garden Hills Elementary School Garden Hills Elementary School has launched a reading buddy and mentoring program called "Everybody Wins," and they need our help.

For thirty minutes once a week, volunteers will read one-on-one with the same student to help bolster their literacy level and develop a caring relationship with a trusted adult. To sign up, visit everybodywinsatlanta.org or email Heather Webb at hwebb@spdl.org.

GARDEN HILLS FAMILY FUN DAY Saturday, October 19 | 10 a.m.–2 p.m. | GHES Garden Hills Elementary School, is having a fall family fun day, and we want to help! If you’d like to volunteer to set up/tear down, facilitate games or serve lunch, email Josh Scott at jscott@spdl.org.

Thursday, October 24 | $25 per person Join us for food and fun during our annual apple-buying trip. We will begin the day by going back in time to the 1950’s with lunch at Fenders Diner in Cornelia.

After, we’ll head to the Alto Market of Jaemor Farms to stock up on apples and other produce. The church bus will depart SPdL at 9:30 a.m. and return by 4 p.m. RSVP to Vicki McCaskey at vmccaskey@spdl.org or 404.591.4344.
