All Creatures of Our God and King
WELCOME & INVOCATION (THE LORD'S PRAYER) Rev. Allie Osborne
Our Father, Which art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
SCRIPTURE Psalm 86:1–10; 16–17 Jonathan Hall
Leader: Incline your ear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
People: Preserve my life, for I am devoted to You; save Your servant who trusts in You.
Leader: You are my God; be gracious to me, O Lord, for to You do I cry all day long.
People: Gladden the soul of Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
Leader: For You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on You.
People: Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my cry of supplication.
Leader: In the day of my trouble I call on You, for You will answer me.
People: There is none like You among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like Yours.
Leader: All the nations You have made shall come and bow down before You, O Lord, and shall glorify Your name.
People: For You are great and do wondrous things; You alone are God.
Leader: Turn to me and be gracious to me; give Your strength to Your servant; save the child of Your serving girl.
People: Show me a sign of Your favor, so that those who hate me may see it and be put to shame, because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

WE LOVE MEETING NEW PEOPLE
Welcome to worship at Second-Ponce! We hope you find this hour to be joyful and transformative. Our church has something for everyone, and not just on Sundays. During the week, we have special dinners, small groups and Bible studies. Wednesday evenings, we share Fellowship Supper followed by adult discipleship and ageappropriate activities for children and teens. We hope you'll join us! And now that you know a little about us, help us get to know you better by completing the blue or green card located in the pew rack and hand it to a minister or drop it in the offering plate.
HOW TO JOIN
Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. At any time during the Hymn of Response, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where a member of our ministry team will greet you with warmth and joy. If you're uncomfortable being "in the spotlight," but still want to join–that's ok! Speak with of one our ministers after worship and they'll walk you through an alternative plan.
ADDITIONAL SUNDAY INFORMATION
CHILDCARE DURING WORSHIP
We love to see children at Second-Ponce, and we have a Kids’ Club area just for them! It's one floor up from the Sanctuary, and our greeters will be happy to show you the way. In the Kids' Club, there’s a nursery and Kids Worship for babies–5th grade. You may take your children to the Kids' Club before the service or, if you prefer, they can stay with you in the Sanctuary for the entire hour or until the Doxology (when kids leave with children's ministry leaders). After worship, pick them up in the Kids’ Club.
SHARING PRAYER REQUESTS
At Second-Ponce, you have a church family who welcomes the opportunity to join you in prayer. Let us know your prayer needs by filling out a request card located on the back of the pew rack. You can drop it in the offering plate or give it to a member of the Second-Ponce ministerial staff after worship.
GIVING AN OFFERING
SHARING HIS SPDL STEWARDSHIP STORY
David Anderson and his wife, Ivy, have been active members of Second-Ponce for over 40 years. Currently, he serves as President of the Sanctuary Choir and Chair of the Planned Gifts Committee. David's previous committee service includes the Personnel and Ridgecrest Lodge Committees and chairing the Board of Deacons and the Stewardship, Planned Gifts and Finance Committees. His devotion to God and love for our church also led him to serve as a Sunday School Director. David and Ivy have two grown children, Whitney and Clay.
Your financial support of Second-Ponce allows us to carry out the mission God has for our church. There are giving cards in the pew racks that utilize a QR code for making gifts online. You may also drop your offering in the offering plate.

MISSIONS COUNCIL UPDATE
Below is an excerpt from this week's post from On Second Thought. Each Wednesday in June, we're sharing updates from our four councils. This week, catch up with the Missions Council.
The Missions Council has spent the first half of 2023 focused on engaging the congregation and community and supporting our valued missions partners. Here's a snapshot of those goals in action:
• We were thrilled to have Rev. Allie Osborne join the Missions Council as our staff liaison. Her calling to missions service and engagement were immediately evident and we're grateful to have her creativity and passion on our team.
• A team of 10 SPdL members participateed in the Atlanta Community Food Bank's Hunger 5k Run/ Walk (Even on a wet and cold Sunday afternoon!).
• To support the Toco Hills Community Alliance, we held a canned goods drive in April. We collected 250 cans of fruit and—this was an expected divine opportunity—one of the students from the Collective Learning Academy (an on-campus partner) delivered them for us.
• We continued our work as an Encourager Church for Janee and Hary Angel, missionaries serving refugees in Belgium. This included exploring the possibility of offering an international mission trip to visit them and participate in their work. You can read about our role as an Encourager Church at www.spdl.org/missions.
• In support of Garden Hills Elementary School, our neighborhood education partner, SPdL members volunteered at their annual Spring Festival and provided an end-of-the-year lunch for the teachers and staff.
• Our church's many missions endowments distributed much needed funds to 11 missions partners.

• In just a couple of weeks (leaving July 8), a group of 15 members will be going to Miami to work with our friends at Touching Miami with Love (TML). This is our seventh year serving the children, families and staff of this wonderful organization.

GROWING IN DISCIPLESHIP
JUNE 2023 PRAYER FOCUS: PRAYING IN COLOR

Praying in Color is meaningful whether there is brief time available or ample space for silence. Former math professor Sybil MacBeth developed her love of doodling and drawing as a unique path to prayer. She recognized that she could use her love of mathematics to embrace an “artistic display of numbers and symbols,” while doodling. Perhaps the most common method of prayer in the protestant church is with eyes closed. However, the practice of Praying in Color connects one’s eyes, hands and heart. Learn more at www.spdl.org/prayer.
FOR GOOD MEASURE
The busyness of summer can take us away from church activities, and in turn, can lead to a decline in giving. Church ministries and expenses don't take a vacation, so for good measure, we're asking you to make continued giving a summer priority. There are a variety of ways you can set up your gifts to post automatically each month, from setting up a recurring donation to submitting post dated checks to the church office. Learn more at www.spdl.org/give.
