CHORAL CALL TO WORSHIP Lift Every Voice, v. 1 (Hymn 638)

Please stand and join the choir in singing.

Lift ev’ry voice and sing, Till earth and heaven ring, Ring with the harmonies of liberty. Let our rejoicing rise High as the list’ning skies, Let it resound loud as the rolling sea. Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us. Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us. Facing the rising sun Of our new day begun, Let us march on till victory is won.

Newcomers INFO FOR

Welcome to church! Make yourself at home here.

USING THE PEW CARDS

GREEN GUEST CARD: FOR FIRST TIMERS Use it to share as much information as you like and drop it in the offering plate. We understand that some people are hesitant to fill out church cards. It's true—a member of our pastoral staff will reach out, but you won't be flooded with communication. Engagement with us will be at your own pace. RED CARD: FOR RETURNING GUESTS & SPDL MEMBERS If you're a guest who's ready to take the next step or a church member who wants to deepen your involvement, fill out the red pew card—I'm a Regular—and drop it in the offering plate. Let us know how we can help.

Those wishing to join Second-Ponce today are invited to come down front at this time.

Honoring Baptist Black History Written in 1900 as part of President Lincoln’s birthday celebration, James Weldon Johnson’s Lift Every Voice and Sing has become an enduring musical source of comfort and strength for those in the ongoing struggle for social justice and racial reconciliation. Discipleship Month at Second-Ponce Discipleship is one of Second-Ponce's four core values. As a Christ-centered church family we strive to equip people to discover God’s call for their lives. Through intentional prayer, scripture study, mission and fellowship, we can more fully develop as followers of Christ. Watch this month, as we highlight several discipleship ministries and offer information on how to incorporate spiritual practices in your daily life. For more information on how to be involved or to express an interest in serving further with the Discipleship Council, email us at discipleship@spdl.org.

All: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for His name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff—they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long. HYMN NO. 65

OPPORTUNITIES FOR ENGAGEMENT

arr. Kirkland

They are given by Helen Byrd.

We love to see children at Second-Ponce, and we have a Kids’ Club area just for them! It's one floor up from the Sanctuary, and our greeters will be happy to show you the way. In the Kids' Club, there’s a nursery and Kids Worship for babies–5th grade. You may take your children to the Kids' Club before the service or, if you prefer, they can stay with you in the Sanctuary for the entire hour or until the Doxology when kids leave with ministry leaders.

JOINING SECOND-PONCE Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. At any time during the Hymn of Response, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where a member of our ministry team will greet you with warmth and joy. If you're uncomfortable being "in the spotlight," but still want to join–that's ok! Speak with one of our ministers after worship and they'll walk you through an alternate plan.
