Newcomers

GREEN GUEST CARD: FOR FIRST TIMERS

Use it to share as much information as you like and drop it in the offering plate. We understand that some people are hesitant to fill out church cards. It's true—a member of our pastoral staff will reach out, but you won't be flooded with communication. Engagement with us will be at your own pace.

RED CARD: FOR RETURNING GUESTS & SPDL MEMBERS

If you're a guest who's ready to take the next step or a church member who wants to deepen your involvement, fill out the red pew card—I'm a

Regular—and drop it in the offering plate. Let us know how we can help.

HANSON PLACE

Those wishing to join Second-Ponce today are invited to come down front at this time.

POSTLUDE

Rev. Hall

Rev. Brewer

Reciting the Lord's Prayer together is a powerful experience, one that is guided by incluson from its very first word. If prompted, we invite you to join us in this meaningful prayer practice.

Our Father, Which art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Allegro G. B. Martini, O.F.M.

Alvin Blount, organ

The Sanctuary flowers today are given in honor of the

SECOND-PONCE SAINTS

who have gone before us. May we be as blessed by their memories as we were by their lives.

We love to see children at Second-Ponce, and we have a Kids’ Club area just for them! It's one floor up from the Sanctuary, and our greeters will be happy to show you the way. In the Kids' Club, there’s a nursery and Kids Worship for babies–5th grade. You may take your children to the Kids' Club before the service or, if you prefer, they can stay with you in the Sanctuary for the entire hour or until the Doxology when kids leave with ministry leaders.

JOINING SECOND-PONCE

Alvin Blount,

Second-Ponce enthusiastically welcomes you to make a commitment to Christ and our community of faith. At any time during the Hymn of Response, simply walk to the front of the Sanctuary where a member of our ministry team will greet you with warmth and joy. If you're uncomfortable being "in the spotlight," but still want to join–that's ok! Speak with one of our ministers after worship and they'll walk you through an alternate plan.

WEEKLY PRAYER GUIDE 40 WEEKS OF PRAYER

Week 14 (Nov. 3–9): Love One Another

Read: John 15:12–17

Pray:

• God called us to follow Him and equips us to do so. Ask God how we can tangibly love one another.

• Consider the following benediction that Dr. Frank Harrington, the former pastor of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, often shared: Remember by the goodness of God you were born. Remember that in the mercy of Jesus Christ you have been redeemed. Remember that He walks with you every day to comfort you, to strengthen and to guide.

He promised He would, “Lo, I am with you always.” Remember while others have called you servant, He has called you friend. In the strength of that mighty friendship, go forth now to serve in the Master’s Name. Till we meet again.

GOOD THINGS AHEAD IN CHURCH COMMUNICATIONS

Faith & Fellowship, our new monthly church e-newsletter, will launch November 5! On the first Wednesday of the month, we'll share stories, event details, photos, special features and more. The Signal will remain on its same schedule, but will transition to brief alerts, reminders and breaking news, and it will continue to post the prayer list. We hope this new publication model will add depth and richness to your church experience as well as provide a creative space for ministry expression.

SUPPER & SPDLU

Wed, Nov. 6 | Beginning at 5 p.m. | Fellowship Hall & Zoom

Meal: $10/adult; $8/child

About the Series: Hear O Israel: The Shema. In Mark, Jesus quoted the Shema—a central declaration of faith by the ancient Israelites. Discipleship Council members will lead three weeks of exploring the Shema. We'll study its history and context, learning how to apply this ancient prayer in our lives as Christians. We'll also examine the rich meaning of key Hebrew words in the verse using a combination of lecture, Bible Project videos and discussion.
